As an international student, I have been really struggling to find apt information regarding the admission process in the US. All your videos have been really helpful. So, I just wanted to say. Thank YOU.
Omg your videos have really helped my anxiety with applying for a masters program and just knowing the direction I want to take in life as far as my career. I was debating in getting a master in i/o psychology or psychiatric nursing but now I know what I want to do. Thank you sooooo much. Wish you had a mentoring program.
This makes my heart sing! I'm so glad they have been helpful. It is definitely a process and it can be a confusing one, and I'm so glad that you're starting to successfully tell your anxiety to f off :) Tell me more about what you're thinking about for a mentoring program?
The IO Soapbox possibly having more personal sessions. As an IO psych major it’s a fascinating topic, but I have so many questions about the field itself. I’ve been binge watching your episodes and they’re great! I would love a mentoring program as well, the learning process, recommendations and actual experiences wiring the field.
Can you do a video recommending books about topics related to I/o? I really need that, because I am doing my bachelors degree in Psychology but all my classes are given thought a clinical point of view (almost all my professors are clinical psychologists). I’ve read all Adam Grants books and all SIOP articles. 😂😂
I love this question! I asked folks on twitter and other spaces for recommendations. Here is a recommended book: www.amazon.com/Industrial-Organizational-Psychology-Understanding-Workplace/dp/1319014267 , and check out scienceforwork.com/about-us/, department12.com/ as well!
Does having a master's increase your chances for acceptance into a fully-funded doctoral program? I'm taking this year to really dig in and decide but... I'm also freshly 40 years old. I definitely know I want to train and shape corporate and business practices for staff and recruitment professionally. Should I even worry about a PhD?
There's a lot packed in here! The answer, like almost everything in IO (womp) is a resounding: "It depends!" Some doctoral programs like folks who are coming straight out of undergraduate. Some (like Hofstra) won't even admit someone without a Master's in IO! And, it depends on what you want to do - we have a few videos on that. If you want to be a full time professor, that PhD can help you. There are LOTS of paths to shape businesses with a Master's degree. What is the motivation for the PhD, for you?
hello love your videos it really help soo much with grad school I'm doing really well GPA high and I graduate in October 2020 but I having jobs all in the field any advice?
I am currently completing my honours degree in psychology and I am writing my honours thesis with a clinical psychology supervisor. Does the fact that my thesis will be on something other than I/O limit my chances of getting into an I/O program?
Can somebody from India who have worked in IT field for 2 years pursue Master's in I/O Psychology? If yes, can you please let me know the paths that I would have to follow. As I am from non Psychology background, is it required for me to do some internships/ coursework in the similar field? If yes, please let me know from where should I find them. If no, let me know which universities accept Indian students from a non Psychology background. Thanks a lot :)
I appreciate this video as I’m applying for an industrial psychology masters

Hiii there can you tell what to choose for masters MA or MS
Is there any flexibility is this field or is it always a 40hrs a week always ?
I think like many fields it would vary. A lot of ios I know though are in their area of passion, and as a result, many work more than 40 hrs a week.
