And honestly, if you think about it.. Even though you had a short MLB career, you were good enough to play in the same league as Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, etc.. So you didn't have a Hall of Fame career, your name will always be in the books.. You were drafted first round and called up to the show for a reason.. You got to do something all of us can only dream of..
Hey Matt, just wanted to thank you for this throw. The Brewers went on to win this game 1-0 thanks to your throw, and then made the playoffs that year for the first time in my life by a single game. I also somehow managed to tear a muscle in my shoulder celebrating after game 162 that year, so you're partially responsible for that too.
A 1-0 game in the season the Brewers ended their 25 year playoff drought by clinching the wild card on the last game of the season. From a Brewers fan - thank you, Matt, best throw ever!
@@JDMatthias Spring Training '94. I saw THREE trainers stretching out his Dad, Cecil, before a game. He was on his back. One held his shoulders. One held the straight leg. The other raised the other leg. :-)
“The worst part of my major league career”... Anytime that comes out of my mouth, I’m only talking about video games 😂 so props to you for even making it man
Matt this is why you have the best channel on YT! You don't see pro players in any sport breaking down their games like this. Hope you start a series with vids like this if you have more games to show us.
I really appreciate your honesty and humility Matt. Also your sense of humor about it all is a real treat in a world of haughty athletes who take themselves way to seriously. Your a hell of good baseball player and I'm sure an outstanding coach keep up the good work!
Really admire how you shook off that mistake. I get the sense that pros have the ability to leave that stuff in the past. Stuff that would crush anybody else. True pro!
It's amazing seeing you analyze your short stint in the majors and describing it. Goes to show how much of a journey it is to even get there, let alone flourish. Love your humility. Most people don't know the extreme difficulty it takes to make it to the show in the first place. They're all just "experts" because they listen to sports radio.
Matt: I really respect you for sharing this video. It's pretty obvious that it stirs up a lot of different emotions, frustrations, and thoughts, so the fact that you shared it and talked about it is very cool.
A lot of people only highlight successes. Talking warts and all, is an honest man’s approach. Although not the hall of fame career that we all dream about as kids, you lived the dream and made it to THE SHOW.
Holy crap Brian Giles batted lead off!!! I remember when he played in Pittsburgh he was always in the 3 hole...I remember the trade that sent Giles to the Padres it was for Jason Bay anybody remember him?
@@marcussmart304 yea, same with a bad batting streak. You are not doing well, and the last place you want to be is in the batters box. Nothing seems to be going your way.
Exactly. This kind of mindset has to constantly be at work, specifically in baseball, which is no small task. It's incredibly hard to have a short memory when you're a competitive athlete.
This is hilarious but all I can think of watching is how cool it is that you were in there with the big boys in the show! That is something else being able to play with and against some of the hugest stars in the game on the biggest stage. I'm glad you didn't rake and can make youtube vids for thousands of us to enjoy now lol
Thanks for the Shout out last video Matt! If you Ever come to Portugal, I can show you things around here (well, in the north mostly) and show you my awful mechanics that Will make you miss kyle and Richie 🤣
I'm sorry for having you bring this up. I was the Brewer fan who asked about your most memorable/embarrassing moment in Milwaukee. I appreciate what you do and still say you're one of my favorite players just because of your interaction. It is kinda weird saying that as someone who's only 4 years younger but absolutely respect you being called up and living every kids dream.
Haven’t commented in any of your videos, Mr. Antonelli you’re a real one man. Got respect for you and I love how you talk about the game. And especially teaching through your failures and experience with the game, leading by example. Salutes

Way late to this but never knew you were a part of one of my favorite Padres teams. Giles and Peavy were two of my favorite players to watch, Jason Kendall too for that matter back when he was on the Pirates with Giles so it was cool to see his cameo.
This is great. Your sarcastic attitude and narration is very funny. When you scream "Matt!" after the outer half pitch you popped up I laughed out loud.
