Did they returned investments? USSR developed high speed trains but not launched any because… too expensive and unprofitable. Same story with supersonic civilian aircraft. USSR and then France developed and launched, but then both canceled - too expensive and unprofitable. US also developed, but even rejected to launch, impossibly to return investments.

Fun fact: Sixteen years ago when an early generation of CRH trains released on the newly built Wuhan-Guangzhou high speed link, the max operational speed was already around 380 kph. Then a tragic crash between two trains happened in the summer of 2011, the commercial speed for high speed trains has since been slowed down. Here we are over a decade years later, the speed limit is about to be elevated to 400kph with year-on-year dedicated innovations and hard work to make this happen. This is how China fixes the problem and learn from its mistakes. Well done!

The speed reduction to 300km/h happened a month before said accident, it was due to energy consumption issues.

By train it can be virtually city centre to city centre, not for airplanes. Just add on the time and cost of the road/rail trip from KLIA to KL and back (and to think I used to do this every week). Think of the added cost and time, not to mention the danger from all the rally drivers on Malaysian highways. The airport train is better, but a higher cost.
While America keeps investing in highways that can go max at 80 mph but often get clogged with traffic and low capacity. China (but also just like the rest of the world) is investing in more comfortable trains that can operate at higher capacity and can run at triple the speed. We already have thousands of high speed trains in China operating daily and we never had a major accident in at least 12 years, so it’s pretty reliable already.

While America keeps investing in highways that can go max at 80 mph but often get clogged with traffic and low capacity. China (but also just like the rest of the world) is investing in more comfortable trains that can operate at higher capacity and can run at triple the speed. It's ridiculous how addicted Americans are to cars.

India needs to switch its deep focus on improving the quality of teaching methods in the school education system.
Instead of enjoying the education, students are getting more depressed because of its conservative methods and illiberal teachers.
Even in 2022, due to communal vengeance, antisocial elements orchestrated organized crimes like burning schools (e.g., Kallakurichi violence); due to personal vengeance, teachers are cruelly killed by hypocrites inside the classroom while teaching (e.g., Ramani teacher murder).
People dare to commit such heinous acts so easily, either because of political support from local ruling parties or because of inadequate law enforcement to protect schools and the environment.
How will this type of country, India, with a majority of people who don't care about high-quality education and cutting-edge technologies, move ahead with a great impact?

@jimmiekarlsson4458 don't pretend like your countries are keeping up with Asia either... our countries (canada and the US) just started declining because of end stage capitalism decades before our did... hence you guys have adopted the 60 year old technology that china, japan and south korea, have been moving away from in the last 20-30 years, now china just made s generational advancement in that technology too as they are also the eotld leader by a huge margin in mag lev tech too, which aside from maybe germany, the rest of europe hasn't really adopted... at least as of yet.
When it comes to infrastructure projects, right now china is just simply in a league of their own, with thecrest of the major asian nations behind it, with europe behind them, north america behind you guys, and the rest of the world trailing us... our countries are so corrupt they've long since stopped serving anyone other than capital.

@@mdzia131 probably very long distance for normal high speed rail, there's is only so fast you can accelerate comfortably... in fact this high speed rail is so fast that its basically in the same category of operational speed that mag lev dominates, not quite but close, and maglev on their maximum speed are still way faster, but this will be 25% faster other high speed trains (and that is 60 years old technology now).

China is doing amazing things one after the other and my country is the one. The bullet train project has been under construction for at least 15 years but I don't know if it will be completed by 3030?
Better be safe and reliable, you don't want bricks, shopping trolleys, cows or trees on the middle of the train tracks which can cause derailment like in india, USA and UK.
Those rails better be inspected daily. Imagine a derailment at 450kph! Meanwhile in the UK we still trundle along at 100kph in 40 year old diesel units.
No worry. They have special carts with optical and electro-megnatic equipment running on the rails. Besides, the rails themselves are embedded with IoT sensors to communicate the rail status real time.

We already have thousands of high speed trains in China operating daily and we never had a major accident in at least 12 years, so it’s pretty reliable already.
There are also monitoring equipment on the rails so any issues would be immediately reported to the control center.
