Sir. You are the reason I startest going prospecting gold. You taught me how to read river and open crevice. I watched your clip dozens of time and learned. Thanks for your video update. Gold Ninja from Japan
A great Adventure in the mountains Gary , and 2.18 grams of gold made it a very profitable day too .👍👍 Yes that can is definitely a Mystery cut specifically with little feet on it , i imagine life was simple back then and painting a can possibly even with a picture on it as an ornament was something that poor people possibly did for decoration . Who knows what purpose it served . If we could only go back in time and see . Another top show my friend 👍👍Cheers Ned . ✌
Looks like a nice spot to dig, regardless. Odd about that cut up can. You did good on the gold, too! I can show you a bottle dump next spring if you like. Tons of wine bottle bits, and I found an 1850's Bondy Bros. belt buckle there as well. I guess neither of us need to worry about riding the knucklehead home, but have a great holiday with the family!
Possibly that can was used as a riser under an oil lamp on a table to get the light spread out a little more? Definitely looks like they made feet on the one end though.
From gold filled painted cans to ornate door locks !! Where’s the bottles ??!! Someday we will find a bottle lol . Just gotta keep digging Beautiful gold nuggets Gary and you beat your two gram rut!!
Hi Gary. I was thinking maybe they had those cans with a sack tied over where they made those feet so it would be easier for them to toss different materials into each sack. Just a guess but it was my first guess after you mentioned the different color scheme. You're the King Gary.
That’s a bummer on the clay pipe that would have been a sweet relic (although I reckon super glue might fix it) no bottles but plenty of gold and interesting metal that’s a good question on the can thing definitely odd to have legs on it maybe for a candle protector? Who knows lol great adventure thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
one idea for the can was it was used to place around something potentially flammable to safe guard it. like chair legs or something else. doesnt exactly explain why they'd bend it instead of just cutting the bottom off like they did the top. just remember my grandfather had something similarly rigged up. another option was for candle reflection. put a candle inside of it and the metal sides would help illuminate an area
Another great video , good to see your out having a go. No bottles , but gold and a good day buddy as I still haven't even cracked a gram yet! 😢, But I am still trying. Thanks again , Gary. Keep swinging , cheers Andy Poverty prospecting Australia
Painted can mystery is intriguing. Seems to me that there probably wasn’t a bunch of free paint laying around in the high country for creative projects so must have been a reason. Hopefully they weren’t honeypots 😉
Back in the 1980’s at a Boy Scout campout, a ‘mountain man’ in his 70’s, showed us how to make a mini wood stove for cooking by cutting a big bean can like the one you found. The bent tabs on the bottom stabilize it and keep an air-gap at the bottom to keep the fire inside blazing. He also fashioned a small fork and spoon out of the detached can lid. 🤯
That clay pipe is super cool
Agreed.
A pipe for Smoke offerings ???
Tim’s claim ???
Lol @Blue lead ??

nice to see you back in the two gram rut
Good morning Gary.
Nice gold and good work finding the bedrock. Happy Thanksgiving.
We ❤ 2 c the productive trips. Wouldn't antique shops or swap meets be better for bottles??

That bottle patch sure has some nice gold... the steak continues...
Morning !! Wonder if they are opening the can like that to make a DIY coal stove, the flaps could support a pan or pot to cook on?
Yeah, I think that's it for the high ground. A lot of snow has fallen since you filmed this. I'm looking forward to the river adventure.

Wow! That’s great! Nice finds 😊

Thank you for sharing. 👍
Hey two toes . Maybe they used the can for some kind of game. Maybe throw pine cones or something at it.

Good morning Gary! Have a great thanksgiving buddy!

Morning Gary
I wish I was out there having fun with you guys! Being stuck on the east coast isa drag. We have gold but it very tiny amounts.

Morn’n gentleman
👍
Perfect way to wake up. Great job brother. You got your 2 gram day. Now keep it up 👊😎
2 grams a day adds up real fast great day in the gold fields.
A wind guard for a candle , I don't think a candle would burn the paint, hmmm. Cool stuff though.
Maybe that can was used for a flashing like pipe between the stove and the outside? May all your days continue to be golden!
Morning Gary!
Apple 🍎 for dinner lol love your adventures very nice 2.18g beautiful have a great Thanksgiving
Great job⛏️🇺🇸
Could the can be part of a old claim marker? ✌️
I'm surprised gold wasn't falling out of that smashed can. It was two-toes shaking it after all.
We have to find the can they lost when it was still full of material
How’s it going, Bennett? Hope you’re out finding some good Gold.
2.19 = $184.68 Not Bad :)
