READ ME FIRST! Use it to cast the Horror on opponent's range unit such as Devastator squads. Cast Catalyst on Genestealers to keep them alive, all the while learning how to use Opportunistic Advance properly and how to deny shooting with Hormagaunt's 6" pile in/consolidate. Oh, have I mention that your Flyrant simply won't die? T7, 3+, 4++, -1 to hit, and -1 to damage with Adaptive Biology. In 1,000 point game, there's rarely anything that can stop him, giving you more room for error when it comes to Synapse chain. Trygon Prime pops out, unload Termagants and activate Single-Minded annihilation to shoot twice with them, that's 132 shots in total by the way. Trygon Prime provides synapse, and its Shadow in the warp will fuck with enemy Psyker within 18". This is a "learning" list so to speak, not the most top-notch competitive list that you just buy and forget. If you want to go cheap for both WH40K and AoS then go 3 x start collecting demons of Nurgle and 1 x Epidemius. Use Amazon and you only pay 230€ for an decent 1000 point army for both games. As well it might be worth checking out the Khorne vs Slaanesh set (Realm of Chaos: Wrath and Rapture) in combination with the start collecting sets of the same gods and maybe some additional Daemonettes and Bloodletters. Makes 2 great Battalions, and with 2 Nurgle starter sets you can increase it to 3 Battalions of 2000-2500 points ... only down side is that it lacks some Tzeentch, who is pretty good right now.
You only counted one Termagaunt brood box in the total, the real total should be $255,75. Otherwise really nice video, made me want to start a Tyranid army :)
I used your list for the core of a 1,500pt army (I added Hive Guard and an Exocrine). Works great, good fun to play. Thanks for the advice. Hope you make more videoes. Do you have a discord channel?
Thank you for this video! I am new to 40K and to Tyranids, I am gonna go after this army list, is it still valid and doable today? (since the video is 2 years old)
thx for this video, show me how interesting Tyras are, i will start too. do you have any experience from tournaments , can they handle good with everything?
Not very much with Tyranids, it really depends on your local meta. For instance, the general consensus of the meta is Knight, Tank Commanders, and Tau 104. Which is absent from my local meta. My local meta is dominated by Ultramarine gunline, Eldar and various Imperium soup without much knights. Which makes anti-infantry a much more important gap to fill compare to anti-tanks. That being said, out of 5 factions I play, Tyranid is perhaps the most adaptable in any meta. If you know what you will be fighting (which most of the time you will, there's only that many player in your local store, etc), then you can really craft a killer list to deal with that, not a lot of faction can say that.
thx for answering. last point is very important an army that can deal with a lot of difficult situations is a big plus for Tyranids. I will start with them :=)
ua-cam.com/video/3sIscp5PKyM/v-deo.html his first comment has this link to a 1500 point army. In that videos comments I also believe hes got the post CA list too.
Of course! It will still work as a good starting point for new Tyranid collector. I think I have the updated list replied in one of the comments, might want to look for it.
Here it is. 1x Broodlord 1x Flyrant with Quad Devouer 20x Genestealers, 5x Acid Maw 12x Hormagaunts 23x Termagants with Devourer 1x Trygon Prime w/Toxinspike It should net 1000 point on the dot, although this means you will have to get one extra box of Genestealers, which may or may not defeat the purpose of this list.
@@tsumugi1654 This is excellent information. Thank you very much! Your videos are the best I've seen for beginners who don't know where to start with 40K. I am beginning a Tyranid army based on your recommendations. Keep up the good work!
Yes, actually you answered One of my comments before, asking nearly the same. What I still dont unterstand is how To play the Flyrant. If you take quad devourer you wont be able To pick rending claws atleast in Battle scribe, as you will have to much weapon Choice. So is twin linked valid or wont you Consider going meele?
Hey mate, I'm thinking of starting a Nid army with this list, is there anything you'd change now? I'm thinking of adding some more psychic as I increase the points
Hey, thanks for using the list. As far as the list itself, nothing really changed, the updated point value for post 2018CA is pinned in the comment though. If you want to go more Smite focus army, I would suggest to just bring Flyrant and Neurothrope, there really isn't a point to take Zoanthrope for the time being.
@@tsumugi1654 Thanks, one thing I am also unsure on is how to deal with riptides and such in 1K games, a friend of mine who gave me a demo game last week gave me his tau with 2 riptides in list at 1K points, but to me as a new player it seems like tyranids would suffer against stuff like that
If I use 16 Genestealers in Battlescribe they at have automatically Rending claws. So why would you use Scything talons s i can't save any points or what exactly i'm doing wrong?
One more Question - What would you change after Chapter approved? So basically it's only Broodlord and winged Hive Tyrant which have been changed. Just add more troops?
@@cemeterysiro Trygon also got 20 point reduction from their massive scything talons, combine that with Broodlord, you get roughly 67 points to play with. Now I would spend 14 points of it to give Hive Tyrant another pair of Devourer, remove the adrenal gland, and spend the last 58 points on getting 4 Genestealers, which is 48 points, and spend the last 10 points on 2 Hormagaunts, done. So it will look like something close to this: 1x Broodlord 1x Flyrant with Quad Devouer 20x Genestealers, 5x Acid Maw 12x Hormagaunts 23x Termagants with Devourer 1x Trygon Prime w/Toxinspike It should net 1000 point on the dot, although this means you will have to get one extra box of Genestealers, which may or may not defeat the purpose of this list.
