- In this episode of Stranger Fruit, Donovan sits down with Queen, one half of the dynamic podcast duo Tea with Queen and J, and the creator of Miss Vixen. Join us as we delve deep into the intricate relationships between the Black, Jewish, and Arab communities. Queen shares her unique perspective on anti-Semitism, Zionism, and the often overlooked anti-Black racism within the Arab world. We also discuss the impact of social media in amplifying these issues and the fear of losing career opportunities when speaking out against oppression. This conversation is filled with deep insights and powerful reflections on coalition-building and the importance of standing together in the fight for justice.
Next week, we continue with part 2 of our conversation with Queen, where we dive into the fear of speaking up for Palestinians and the power of media and its impact on the state of the world today.

I’m Mexican and I’m on a journey on educating myself on anti-Blackness in the Mexican community to start educating others, and this convo has blessed me. Thank you! ❤
First! Idk if you're reading these comments but I've been a fan since Grapevine and I'm so glad you're still having these conversations. I hope this channel can blow up soon! Thank you ❤
Thank you sooooo much!!!! We appreciate you for still supporting the work after all of these years. It means a lot.
@@strangerfruituniverse hey what happened to the grapevine can we still watch I’d pay to watch!
@@strangerfruituniverse Focus on yourselves
Same here❤
@@taty9872unfortunately Ashley deleted all the content for some reason 😢. It’s such a shame too because there was so much gold there. I would run certain videos back repeatedly & share some of them with folks I needed to get a point across to in a concise way! RIP Ayesha!
Black ppl aren’t a monolith and I think this question hits different depending where you are in the world. I can understand why Americans feel connected to the struggle in Palestine but if you ask a West Papuan, where they are being colonized & tortured by Indonesia - a big supporter of Palestine - then I think you will get a different response. Same goes for Black Jews in Israel. Palestine is also part of the Arab league and they have a hand in what is happening to indigenous Black people in Sudan. The issue is deeply nuanced but I can understand why you are keeping it simple since most of your audience is probably American.
I appreciate this response for real. Bc it shows a more detailed global thought.
I agree with you except when you said palestine has a hand in what's happening in Sudan (genocide/mass slaughter)-- the UAE and other western nations are responsible and play a role, not palestine because they aren't a sovereign nation with a standing military, hell they can't even control their own fate
@@aishax01it might be harsh of me to say this given their dire circumstances, but they are a voting member of the Arab league and have never come out against the other members over what they are doing in (South) Sudan. They don’t have a standing army but they aren’t completely blameless.
Black is a culture so it doesn't matter where you are in the world because the person doing the speaking provides the only context you need. The person speaking has zero cultural relation to any of the groups you've listed in your babble. Dont sit under black people and say stupid things, go talk stupid to the people of Papua New Guinea.
If the humanity of another suffering people isn't sufficient for you to lend your voice....then your voice is not needed. Please remain silent.
Palestine will be free without you.
💯
"All these ladies with afros trying to be the VP of this and that, is a little to much" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That part sent me!
The KEY IS TO STUDY AND LEARN FROM THE PAST AND PRESENT. Many groups have BEEN HARMED
I watched the interview with Queen and Jay at least 50 times! Part 1 and 2 - I fell so in love with those two young sisters. I always loved Donovan. Excellent work my children. ❤😀🙌🏿🖤💙🧡🩵
Thank you sooooo much!!! You are amazing for taking the time to spread some good vibes. Sending you love!

The Nation of Islam is not regular Islamic religion but an Afrocentric religion incorporating some islamic elements.
We should care about all groups that are suffering around the world and that includes Haiti, Sudan, Yemen, etc. But we have to worry about our own community first because it is suffering. Sex trafficking is a huge problem, high std rates, poverty, domestic violence, etc. we have to go to bat for our own issues first.
South Africa disgrees. How the hell are we going to stop a genocide on us if we sit back and watch it committed by our own government on others? As if the endless funds being used for weapons isn't already hurting us...Wake tf up.
No we should not, it's not our battle to fight.
Arabs and turkish somali tethers ignore Libya slavery of undocumented negrorid african refugees
This is part of my issue in how the topics are framed. When you ask a closed ended question like “should Black people care about what happens in Palestine” you will get knee jerk reactions & responses from people who haven’t even engaged the video. A better framing in my opinion would be “why should Black people care about Palestine.”
We are not marching for us stop trying to make excuses. If you wanna March for blacks than March for Congo not Palestine
Your PAUSING it.
This us my humble opinion how can support others that doesn't support us ? Make it make sense no one is outside of America is advocating for the wrongs to be right for us so tell me why we should use or energy for others when they continue to turn a blind eye to what we are facing and have been facing.
That’s not true at all. It may have taken some time but non Americans have been supporting and spreading the word of what’s happening in the US for decades.
Some of you just don’t want to come out of the oppression Olympic mentality.
We cannot come out anywhere other than when the wrong is right its not about being a victim its about we cannot move forward until they do what they did for Japan the jews etc we are no different its not about wanting something for free its about truth and facts that a Country was built on our blood sweat and tears and our money was taken and coperations built the ones on the top did not put in the work they used us to build there wealth and until we have our own banks our own laws our own everything nothing will change.
They had literal murals for George Floyd and Black Lives Matters in Palestine. The Palestine struggle has always been intertwined. Kwame Ture, Angela Davis, James Baldwin, Malcolm X etc etc all spoke on the Palestinian struggle against imperialism and colonialism. Read beloved. Your comment is devoid of facts.
@@Ossoukospreading the word to whom and for what purpose? Didn’t we already spread the word enough in the 60s?
No
I feel compassion for any hurt children and innocent ppl in a senseless war ...but as a blk woman I think it absurd for blk ppl to have such passion to fight for Palestinian ppl to overcome the power that be because I wanna know how many blk ppl live in Palestinian before the war ... barely none ,so there's my answer 😮
There’s a lot of Black people in Palestine, lol. I have seen so many videos of them. And even if so… This is pretty selfish logic on your part.
She is not selfish she is speaking true facts...so stfu
You don't feel a bit of compassion with such passive aggressive immorality mixed with a twisted sense of black nationalist pride. If America can support the slaughter of non-black people so easily and proudly, you've validated the same methods to be used on black people at home. This is some low vibrational demonic logic here.
There are (and always have been) many Black people in Palestine. Same goes for Iraq, Iran, UAE, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Saudia, etc but we are still fighting for basic civil rights in the Arab/Muslim world 🙃
@@Rosannasfriend no theres not the only people that are black are black americans, everyone else refers too themselves by nation or religion, idgaf about anything but black americans. Yall use blacks when its convenient.
Should black people care about an ongoing genocide? Even posing the question is foolish and insulting.
Somali and moroccan danish rappers promote Gaza not Sudan Congo ethiopia genocide
Exactly... how stupid
Islamist artist Music tethers neglect african genocide in rap of sweden Denmark norway thanks to danish agents giving islamist record deals in scandinavia 😂
