Yes, prices are pretty high in the first world countries like USA/Hawaii and Far East Asia compare to Southeast Asia is much suitable for budget travelers.
I've lived in Waikiki for the last 8 years. The best food so far has been a mango I picked up off the sidewalk one day on my way home. It seems the taste and price are inflated by the presentation, expectation, and presence of 'Floyd Mayweather' s.
"Lilikoi" you'll see that flavor everywhere in Hawaii. It means passion fruit. The juice POG passion-orange-guave is a must. Also, Li Hing Mui crackseed is famous in Hawaii. Btw, Obama was born in Hawaii and went to Punahou High school on Oahu. He too loves "shave ice."
That's debatable. Waiola shaved ice is in town and some say better. Obama has a house but is not always there. Robin's nest from the original Hawaii 5-0 on the windward side. Kaneohe. @@fakawat7220
Mr. Chris:Congratulations to you guys for your new remarkable video today’s from Honolulu, Hawaii to tried some delicious Hawaii dishes or cuisines & Jamaican foods in January of 2024❤❤❤
Chris, chef Chai (he is originally from Thailand) is actually famous in Hawaii. I remember watching his cook show appearances when I was younger. I believe he was the chef for Hawaiian Airlines first class/business class longtime ago.
The fried prawn menu from Chef Chai that Chris tried is actually called “Kung Sarong” it’s an appetizer menu, one of the famous traditional Thai dishes.
Estoy a un mes y medio de viajar a hawaii de luna de miel y este video me alludo a elegir la ubicacion del hotel donde me gustaria quedar, muchas gracias Dios los bendiga
Itʻs good to see you trying different things in Waikīkī, but you canʻt compare prices after coming from Southeast Asia to the resort areas in the American state with the highest cost of living and an economy dependent on tourism. Please think about the cost of living in Thailand and the Philippines and how much people earn (or the kinds of work the poor must do). The cost of food and items shipped to Hawaiʻi has gone up like everything with inflation, the minimum wage just went up to $14/hour (with a very high income tax rate) and will be $18/hour in 2028, and all food businesses must use biodegradable or sustainable dishes, utensils, bags, etc. Waikīkī is also the most expensive real estate in the islands (and prices are generally higher than in other areas of the island), so these block parties (used to be only for special events like a festival day or celebration) support our local vendors and workers. Hope you get to get out of Waikīkī or other resort areas like Disney Aulani on your visit or future visits to Hawaiʻi. (I see you went to Chinatown in another video.)
AHAHAHA WHEN YOU WERE MAKING JOKES ABOUT EATING THE ICE CREAM REMINDED ME OF THAT VIDEO WERE THE GIRL IS FEEDING HER BF THAT LONG ASS GLIZZY AT THE FAIR 😂😂😂
@@Travelwithchris I was surprised you ran into him right there under the tent! He’s looking healthy too! Hawaii living! His restaurants are upscale fine dining. Asian Fusion.
Dude... You're killin' me with the pronunciation... It's pronounced WHY-kiki, not WAH-kiki. I easily spend $75-$100 at these events! Otherwise, great videos, as usual!
Eh, this stuff is nice but the real street food out here comes from the back of unmarked white vans or pickup trucks on the side of the highway (No, im not kidding).
It's funny I can always tell when you're lit😂
Honeycomb Ice Cream from Leeward Drive-Inn in Waipahu…so ‘ono! Chef Chai’s prawns are so good! Everything on his menus are yummy!
I need to try that one!
Huge inspiration for traveling. Thank you, Chris.

best shave ice is on the other side of the island 😆. I think Obama is still on the island. hopefully he sees them 😂

There is endless Thai, Lao, Filipino, Japanese, Korean food here in Hawaii! A big melting pot of cultures here.
Considering the fact that you have been to South East Asia, the prices sure differs a hell lot when you convert

Eh, this stuff is nice but the real street food out here comes from the back of unmarked white vans or pickup trucks on the side of the highway (No, im not kidding).
Bro i dont even go to Hawaii because its too expensive and you went there after being in 3rd world countries.
A pineapple in hawaii looks the same as a pineapple in Afghanistan.

She looks like she is full now.👍
Cool bro. No Gladys. This is why we subscribe. We love your videos. You don't need a woman for us men to tune in.

Love your videos. BUT. It is pronounced WHY-keykey. Not Wah-keykey.
$15 for a pineapple? 😮
Crazy right
Wait…does he really think it’s pronounced “wa-kiki “
I thought it was satire at first…
Who cares, the place sucks 🤣
only 15$ for a pineapple haha xD
🤣🤣🤣 positivity is the key
You should make sure when you go to a new place to learn how to say the name of the place you re visiting. ‘Wai-Ki-Ki’, NOT ‘Wai-Kiki’.😂
lol Chris your too cruel
Too expensive!

Don't ever come back you've been banned if I see you (???????????)🤬
