    my wife and i went to test a Giulia over a year ago....we started the car. drove out the lot and i turned to her and said " you will have to make the decision on this because I am already sold . Luckily for me she agreed with me . And no matter the issue ,whenever i start the car and drive its the best car to won and drive. Nothing really compares to it . And space wise had five adults in car driving from White rock to Vancouver and not one complaint. Just love this car!

    I own a 2018 Stelvio 2.0 litre, 1st year it came out. Ya know when Zach says not to buy a car in its first year of existence? Well, he's right! I had electric gremlins for the first year, Ugh! (which were eventually fixed with an updated CPU) BUT....I have over 92K miles on it and there are ZERO creaks or rattles. The car is built very well. And it drives...let's just say it feeds my soul. Keep up the great work!

    I am on my second QV 2023 in Montreal green. I have owned a QV in 2017 when the car just came out and also had a Stelvio 2.0 for almost 4 years and put 50K miles on it. Never had any issue. The only issue I ever noticed was the "service throttle" which is a glitch and shows up and disappears on its own. Nothing needs to be done for it. It's the most amazing drivers car and the driving dynamics and steering response is simply another level.

    I currently have a 2021 Stelvio QV instead, which is not far behind from Gulia QV IMO. Reliability on its electrical isn’t the best, which caused a few visits were made to the dealership to address the issues. Reliability Mechanically been great, which I have not experienced any issues. Driving this amazing vehicle makes you feel excited behind the wheel every single time. The best SUV which I had even driven. Gulia QV definitely be another level!

    I picked up a 2024 Giulia QV “Carbonio Edition” in Rosso GTA. Red leather interior, carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber grille insert, mirror caps and spoiler. Best driving car I’ve ever had and driven. Going to keep it forever. Anyone prioritizing driving engagement should be looking at the Alfa over the M3, RS 5 and C63. The only car that comes close is the CT4 Blackwing.

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 2 місяці тому

      Alas, the "Carbonio Edition" is just a final marketing pack for the US to make buyers pay a premium. Even the leather inside has been downgraded from the original Nappa leather and alcantara trim, to the 4-cylinders' lower-grade full leather trim.

    I have a 2017 Giulia TI Q4 with the performance pkg adaptive damper 19 inch wheels etc. 87000 miles . Absolutely love love love the Giulia. Sexiest car out there and although I have had a few issues, I would buy it again. The biggest downside is the insurance, which is almost twice the other vehicles I have owned. Insurance company rank Alfa's with incredibly high part replacement costs.. so drives up insurance... Ive check everywhere and they are more than I pay now. In the end...... still worth it every time I drive it.

    The Giulia Quadrifoglio is such a magnificent car, but it's a tough sell in the current market, and especially the Canadian market. High performance sports sedans are already a tough sell, let alone a rear wheel drive one in our climate and not so well paved roads in eastern Canada. It's really sad because the Giulia Quadrifoglio IMO has the most soul out of the current European offerings (RS5, M3, C63).

  • @ryanm.3681
    @ryanm.3681 2 місяці тому +11

    I wish we could make the point that literally none of the competitors are going to be any more reliable than the Giulia. At least not the Caddy, BMW benz or Audi that you mention. The IS of course will be. The real issue with this car is the support network... Do you have a dealership or mechanic that can work on it? If so then absolutely buy this car! I have had 2 (2.0s) and they have both been great.

    • @chrisburry8147
      @chrisburry8147 2 місяці тому +1

      Part of reliability is available of parts and down time (not just the failure point). I have a 2024 M3 an have had two Audi RS5's and all have been "reliable" - Chalk it up to minor issues being resolved in a quick visit to the dealer vs the QV where it may sit at a dealership for weeks waiting on parts for a minor repair. As much as I like the QV, it's a big part of the reason I didn't spring for one (that and the terrible infotainment).

    • @ryanm.3681
      @ryanm.3681 2 місяці тому +2

      @chrisburry8147 Many people have had zero issues with their QVs and 2.0t Alfas. If you are going to try and represent a BMW as reliable then your just a dishonest actor. I am absolutely NOT try to say Alfas should be considered reliable. My point is all you hear on the internet is about how you shouldn't get an Alfa because reliability get a BMW instead.. Thats hilarious. All cars have problems. Toyota just recalled 102k cars to replace their defective engines. The unreliability talking point against Alfa Romeo is all hype. As I stated, if you have a dealer or mechanic close enough to you and this is the car you want then you should absolutely buy one and enjoy it. It will break. So will the Cadillac and BMW and any European counterpart.

    • @chrisburry8147
      @chrisburry8147 2 місяці тому +2

      @@ryanm.3681 first off I did put "reliable" in quotes for a reason. None of these brands are known for their impeccable reliability. That being said, all you have to do is take a look at JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc to see that BMW is definitely scoring higher than Alfa (take that however you want). I've had my M3 and several RS5s for many years with no issues (and previous Audi's and BMWs as well). My point was that not having availability of parts or dealership service networks impacts reliability as well...sure you can go to indy shops but part availability is still an issue.

    Also wanted to add. I’ve had a 2019 for six years and 40,000 miles. Not a single issue. The maintenance is very expensive. For example, every 30,000 miles it’s a $2000 serpentine belt and with the other stuff it’s about a $3000 service. Oil filters are $100. But it’s worth it.

    I sold them and Fiats for a while when Alfa recently returned to Canada. We had issues with pretty much every vehicle that was sold. Owners were initially enthusiastic, but that soon turned into buyer's remorse. Service issues due to poor build quality and lack of parts availability were the biggest issues. That entertainment system was not top quality when the car was released. Even worse is the hit these owners will have to take at trade in time. If you really want an Alfa, buy a 2-3 year old one from the original owner, after they have been stunned by the lowball offer from the dealers at trade in time.

    I owned one 2.0T for 3 years and nothing had happened to me. The only gripe I had was, in area I live, there is no dedicated service center for this. You send your car for service to the same shop as the Fiat, Jeep, Dodge and Crysler. Where I see the same guy who service a fiat for $90 oil change, but it cost me $300 to do the same job.. I was debating about keeping one of our car (outback or Guila) at the end of the lease and get a new one. We ended up returning this due to a few factors: the upkeeping cost will likely and high due to parts and service down the road, No matter how good the Guilia was, you can't beat an outback on reliability.

    Quadrifoglio owner for over 5 years now. First as a daily driver but now just a roadtrip toy. Important is to change the original tyres if you live in a cold climate. Also the original battery should be replaced before it suddenly go's dead without a real warning. for now the only 'defect' i had was a leaking shock absorber after driving in a deep put whole and i had to change the front splitter because after a few years of slowly scrapping it at speed bumps they crack on the rear of the spoiler because the carbon is getting to thin. Still a happy owner won't be selling for many years to come.

    I had Giulia Veloce 210hp since 2017 (diesel), in 4y no any single issue, switched to bmw g20 340ix (nice car, nice power, but steering wheel feeling is awful in comparison with Giulia, any Giulia).
    In short, I did order new Giulia Quadrifoglio (Montreal green), expecting delivery Sep/Oct 2024. Coming back to Alfa Romeo, from BMW.
    In Europe this car is coming with 520hp. Major benefit over previous version is lsd differential (TV wasn’t the best solution). Very the same diff you can find in GTA and GTAm models.
    Pros: drivers car capable for daily, like in my case, will be major daily car.
    Cons (only two for me):
    1. Sport exhaust you can open only and only in Race mode, when also traction is off (stupid, since this was the reason lots of broken Giulia Quadrifoglio’s). Why Dynamic mode (while TC is ON) doesn’t support this or simply on/off button like in Porsche?
    2. Missing wireless connectivity for AutoConnect, useful for daily car.
    Reliability will not comment, owned 9 different Alfa’s (even FiatAlfa’s with fwd) and never an issue. Recipe, change engine oil no longer than 15.000km (despite factory recommendations) or once per year (what comes first). Don’t push engine until oil is not at the working temperature. And if you push turbo engine car, give him a time to cool down, don’t just switch off engine.
    Simple rules referring all cars. Petrolheads will understand 😊👍

    This car beats the BMW M3 in terms of feel and rarity. Too many BMW M cars on the road and you risk getting car jacked or stolen. M3 doesn't feel as racey. It is too neutered of feel. It's darn fast but you don't feel much of it. Too insulated. This car is less insulated and the rear feels like it's gonna move but very planted and the car has a more unique tone than all those farty BMW mufflers.
