How to assemble the frame for a perfect vinyl shutter installation

Tools required for assembling and installing shutters:
Wooden wedges
Plastic hammer
Flat screw driver
Long screw driver bit
10mm drill bit
4mm drill bit
60mm screws
Supplied with the shutters:
White cover caps
Hinge pins
Frame corner connectors
The shutters are labelled with room names, the frames are also labelled, they confirm which is left right top and bottom.
Lay the frames out on the floor facing you, usually with top furthest away.
The window I am fitting shutters on is double glazed and has protruding handles, so I've ordered these frames with some extension build outs.
The frame connectors have a locating lug, push the connector into the end of the fame until you hear it click, tap it with a hammer if you need too.
You can assemble the frames without glueing, but I recommend gliding the corners as you will get a neater stronger shutter.
I am using mitre mate from screwfix, you get a can of spray and a pot of glue.
Spray the mitres with the corner connectors first, as this needs some time to dry.
If your frame has extensions on the back ensure they are lined up, then apply the glue to the edge all the frame and extension bits.
When your ready, bring the two mitres together carefully, make sure you have a hammer handy to knock in the connector joint and ensure the frames are flat. You do need to work quickly, as there is only a small amount of time for any adjustment.
Hold the joint together firmly for 10 seconds before letting go, then do the same for the other side.
Repeat the process for the bottom frame, Spray both ends, apply the glue to both ends and bring the mitres together until they are almost touching. Glue one mitre, then the final mitre.
Tip - Put your knee on the frame to hold it still while your knocking the joint together.
Lift the frame carefully, don't twist or knock it as you can easily break the glue joint. Remove the stickers, making note of which is the top.
