I didn’t realize that gorillas could also get pre-eclampsia. Glad they were quick to notice, and that Dr. Jamie/other doctors responded.

As a retired OB nurse (human), this was so touching! So glad they were able to interpret Mom’s head-holding as the sign of a headache, and symptom of preeclampsia❣️

I’m a Neonatal ICU RN & Lactation Consultant who assisted with hundreds of births in the OR. I adored being a part of the moment a family first met their baby. This is wonderful and amazing! I assisted in my nephews who were premature twins birth and cared for them, my godchildren, my friends and just about everyone I went to schools, with growing up. In my 20s & 30s, it almost weekly ended up in deliveries of old friends and schoolmates. It was just really lovely to be there in their happy moments. I can’t imagine how incredible this was for this team!

As someone who was born in Fort Worth a long time ago, I love this. Sending love to Jameela, Mom, and the 3 doctors/surgeons who performed this beautiful act of compassion. Sending love from Costa Rica~

I feel bad for the guerilla mommy. The recovery is pretty painful from the c section. Hopefully it's not as bad for the gurilla mommy.

I wonder what she will do to her incision, how they keep her from touching it and potentially ripping it. She doesn’t know what surgery is. A follow up explaining this would be appreciated!

Amazing. So crazy that humans essentially imprison these beautiful animals so like us…make them endure painful experiments, poach them, etc.
