- Most of us know where the Great Fire of London started... but where did it end? And why is there a statue of a Golden Boy there?
Matt from Fun London Tours gives us the lowdown...

Nice Vid Geoff!
wow did not know about the glutton part .. fab
Is there a McDonald's across the road? That would be so perfect.
how so?
Vincent de Guard Gluttony.
brianartillery ah haha
I remember passing the "Golden Boy" and then walking around the corner to a very nice pub and having a couple of pints. Which brings me to gluttony. Why? Well for a start can you imagine the general mass of the poor people being gluttons? Not a chance, they were too busy being slaves to the wealthy and working for something far less than a pittance. Now King Charles I'm confident and his circle were probably eating and drinking their way through the equivalent of several herds of Elephants and alcoholic lakes bigger than Lake Huron. Still it makes for interesting history and the area the boy occupies is full of that. For those not familiar with London, certainly central London and the City of London then the established walks are well worth the time and effort.
I also understand that Carting Lane WC2, was once 'Farting Lane'. And why not?
I haven't been this early for a long time...
I think I've seen this Golden Boy, as I believe it might be a Pokestop!
The scourge of Pokémon Go!
Cock Lane was also the site of a well documented (but fraudulent) haunting in the 18th Century. And here, things get even funnier, because the young girl at the centre of the 'haunting', said that the 'ghost' had told her it's name, which was... 'Scratching Fanny'. This will be amusing on both sides of the Atlantic for obvious reasons, although the British version has a far dirtier connotation.
brianartillery Yep I was going to post about the Cock Lane '"poltergeist" Scratching Fanny too! Complete sham of course but it was a huge event at the time.
Turns out it the noises were created by the daughter who scraped two pieces of wood together that were fixed to her legs!
I always thought that the rhyme Georgie Porgie was about the fat boy...Georgie Porgy, Pudding to Pye...
I thought for a moment he was going to say testicle to London's history.
Soon there,ll theyll be pokemon street,i phone alley, cocaine causeway..etc etc
Great video! Here in Copenhagen we used to have streets called Pisserenden (the urinal) and Skidenstræde (Shit Street), but they have also had their names changed. Political Correctness gone mad...:-D
Do you think Trump will want to bring back the Gropec*nt Lane name? He deserves to be in Clink either way.
I thought Pye Corner was in Cardiff...
Do you mean just off the A467 near Rogerstone?
CrazyCashGaming Yeah newewst station on the Ebbw Vale metro route
From Pudding to Pye... Excuse me - it *wasn't* "Graffiti" on the plinth of The Monument;
The ACTUAL inscription (which is still on there, they only covered it over) stated, as a fact, that the fire was a deliberate terrorist attack by Papists - this was (as usual) a lie.
Oi Chris stevens
You called?
quality video as always, unfortunately i didnt win the maps of Geoff's channel :(
I couldn't think of anything (T)witty on that occasion, either.
