- My Need for Speed Side by Sides seem to be popular, so I decided to do another one. I never played Need for Speed ProStreet before so I decided to tackle this one down.

I loved the physics in this nfs.
Its not that i dont like the physics, sometimes things are just wrong, and that 402 max KM/h limit sucks, especially because of the broke zonda XD

Really? Could you explain further?
In older gen consoles, theres no visible car damage such as dents, car parts flying off and so on, only scratches on the ps2 version as far as i know, PC and the newer gen consoles offer proper visible damage models on all vehicles. All versions of the game still have the different damage levels tho „light damage“ „heavy damage“ and the ability to total your car, its just nor visible in the older console versions

The car damage in this game was incredible. I love it so much.
Not only is the last cd rom used for pc but also is last good need for speed.

nice comparison as usual! but the ps2 has the lowest framerate console wise. it hangs between 25-30

Aegis Reflector They're at 25-35, but lag down lower a lot with hd 1080p graphics.
Honestly, I hated the PS2 version of Prostreet. The 360 Version is the best, in my opinion.

Because sex sells. period. Why does any marketing campaign use sexy people to market their products? Personally for me seeing overly sexual ads for anything instantly makes me want to buy it less lol, but to each there own i suppose.

When I was playing my Xbox on 480p component cables for many years back in the day. Switching to HDMI was eye bleaching to me.
@Flexsor Well, since they didn't make a port for the first Xbox... yes. Which is odd, since I like this game, I replayed it kinda recently (maybe a year or two ago) and didn't know this, or at least I don't remember knowing it.

I've personally owned this game on ps2, ds , Xbox 360 and wii.
I remember going from the ps2 version to the 360 version and it blew my mind with how much they added

Franklin Puerto Mmm... No, sadly. ProStreet represented with a few EA games less than 5% of traffic so they decided to won't keep support them at all.
I'd love it too, but it didn't look fun (online) 'cuz there were so many difficult fast racers to keep the pace with... an insanity!!!
1:12 this feature actually is available on ps2.
Believe it's also available for the Wii. Seeing as the two share a lot of the same feature downgrades and cuts, I believe it must've been a scripting error.

For me, it's not the graphics that matter, but it's the gameplay that matters the most. It's just my opinion and I do love your videos, now I can see how much more different the versions of the games are, and I have the PS3 version but my PS3 won't read the disc anymore and I'm really upset about it!

When I moved for college i bought it for my pc, but my computer broke and i haven't had the money to fix it since (college life) and now I'm living nostalgia and i bought it for my ps2. Im so excited. The Wii was my favorite because of the steering. The pc was my favorite because of the graphics. I feel the ps2 will be my favorite because of the memories it will bring

In my opinion it had the best car customization in the series and had the best tuning system for your car since you could customize every aspect of almost every part...like the engine, brakes, the drive train, nos and more

Might be worth mentioning that the 1.1 / 1.2 versions of Pro Street on PC have a hardcoded framerate lock of 30 FPS.

Apparently the Origin version (for those that actually managed to register it and get it to work) actually runs at 60 FPS on some computers though. Nobody knows how the lock triggers exactly.
And I found the fix for it. Just place 7 nops (0x90) at B42FA of the executable and it'll work. I used Battery's nocd here as a reference since I don't have the Origin version and Securom doesn't like Windows 10.
The lock automatically triggers when the game's state goes to 6 (while ingame). During any other state (loading or frontend) there is no lock.
Also 1.2 version on PC? I've never heard of it.

As for hex editing, download something like HxD, open up the executable with it, double click on "Offset: " in the lower right corner, write B42FA in the box. Your cursor will jump to that location. Simply write "90 90 90 90 90 90 90" over there (7 0x90's, aka NOP commands) and you should have no FPS locks.
This only works with Battery's nocd crack. (size being 27,4 MB (28.739.656 bytes))
I don't know about the original executable (yet), I'll have to make a special patcher for it once I get Securom version going in the older version of Windows.

Also one thing I noticed about Wii and PS2. Wii has 6 drivers in a race, PS2 only has 4.

the ps2 vs wii bit,
the ps2 has a lack of anti aliasing, while the wii corrects that. just look at the attenna in the distance at 4:45... the ps2 is all jaggy as hell, making it appear blury.
the textures and reflection and car models are a bit better on wii
the reflections on wii, much more natural looking than ps2..
i also noticed pop in (and out) textures on the ps2 while wii has non of that

and as for the xbox 360 vs ps3 bit (i'm omitting pc cause we already know its the best)
once again, the anti aliasing is better on ps3, just look at the wires.
the shadows on ps3 are also better, a lot more natural and at a higher res

Dex the gamer I still have this game in Wii and PS2. Graphics on Wii were better but the controller was shit! So i enjoyed it more on the PS2!

Pro Street and Most Wanted (2005) are my favorite NFS games
I play it on PS2 but theres a thing.... That is so upsetting... And that is.... The vinyls and the decals. While on newer generations you can move it smoothly on the PS2 it is so slow and laggy it is a nightmare to decorate your car with them. This was also a problem on Need For Speed Carbon. But thankfully in Need For Speed Prostreet theres a feature that you can choose from 8 or 9 zones to place your decal and that allows to place it to the closest point where you want to move them.

I enjoyed Pro Street because it wasn't open world. I'm not a big fan of the running back and forth part. But Underground 1&2 are an exception for me.
I feel the opposite.
I love the freedom of an open-world.
Prostreet just felt too limiting, in my opinion.
This is my favorite nfs in the series its very reminiscent of race wars from the first fast and furious

Actually the Ps2 And Wii Versions do have the Autosculpt on all body kits the only things they don’t have are the Wind tunnel feature, the additional cars from the PS3 and XBOX360 Versions, Tokyo Route 3, Leipzig, the Gripclass Grip Race Type And Full damage model of car parts coming off of cars from collisions with Obstacles on the course and the Lampposts on the Nevada Highway and the Expressway signs on the Fukushima Speed Challenges in Ebisu also not crowds on the stands Bleachers and on the sides of the courses behind tire walls, Guardrails and The steel posts on the motor speedways in the game and with other racers on the track.
Is the same game but with worse graphics and less cars...

I know I'm late but the sound on the cars is actually different ps2 and wii: nfs underground 2 and most wanted. PS3,XBOX 360, and pc: realistic sound from their real life counterpart.
dude i remeber when i first got on a ps2 and played this game to death i'd even get up earlier before school to play this and i actually bought my xbox 360 just cuz i wanted that cool smoke effect when i was drifting i gave so many good memories to this game yet still its not even my favourite nfs thx for revisting this one rooker vision brought me some good memeories back.
i like how cars can fly via bug to the air but the game is called proSTREET.
In my personal opinion, this was the best NFS game of them all. I think they should make a sequel that's just an improved version with more cars.
PS2 = GT4 with more shit stuff.
PS3 = GT5 Prologue with car customization.
DS/Wii = Mario Kart as racing sim.
PSP = GTPSP with more stuff.
XB360 = Forza 2 with story mode.
PC = TORCS/SPEED DREAMS ON STEROIDS.
You're wrong about the autosculpt feature on PS2. I autosculpted every car I owned and I had the game for PS2.
