SCP-178 is a pair of normal 3-D glasses that allows it's wearers to see otherwise hidden entities that exist all around us. But wearer's must be careful not to interact with the creatures in any way, as they are much more deadly than they look...

I always found these glasses terrifying by virtue of the fact it means we’re constantly surrounded by deadly creatures and it’s only our ignorance that keeps us safe

@@failmeep5167 in the file they do mention a similar scenario. The beings will only attack an individual who’s aware of them or trying to interact with them, whether they’re wearing the glasses or not. Some things they’ll brush off, but if they’re sure they’ll attack
One D class said he saw the creatures in the observation booth and pointed to where it was. The researchers looked at that exact spot and it must have realised it wasn’t a coincidence because it butchered everyone involved. In another case, the D class stared at one but after a few seconds of no interaction. The creature thought they were just staring into space and lost interest in them. They seem to be calm until they have a good idea that anyone can actually see them.

Dr Buck understands more than most that these entities are probably not friendly on the even the best days and chooses to continue research knowing that 90% of researchers get determinated by one of these entities at one point or another. Yes she is extraordinarily harsh but I would have a hard time believing anyone wouldn't after the amount of work that she has done with the foundation. I do enjoy her using 096 in another story as a weapon. It demonstrates that she does at least understand these entities even if she does not particularly enjoy dealing with them.
then its not an expriment its just wasting resorses....the fundation wastestes lives in some of the most stupid ways...if they know the results already thru previous exprimentation, those are redundant experiments, any lab would laught at them for requesting them

@@backnifer54 same relationship as most death row inmates and their regular guard. If you're locked up on death row and you're the friendly type, you'll usually make friends with whoever you have available, even if it is a CO.

Clarification:
These 3-D Specs aren't haunted, nor do "produce" those creatures. They actually allow the wearer to see these creatures that inhabit our reality alongside us; creatures that we cannot see otherwise.
These creatures are everywhere. On the streets, in forests, in mines, in offices, in schools, ...even in our houses. Some are even piggybacking other people on their way to work, while others might be sitting on ours beds, poking people in their sleep.
Those creatures walk aimlessly most of the time, observing us living our lives, poking random things, or just standing in corners. They appear passive and mindless, if undisturbed by us.
The only reason why we aren't all dead is because we aren't aware of their presence on everyday basis.
Well, I am definitely not sleeping tonight.
Does that explain why I felt a woman like thing touching my war making sure I feel comfortable...I also felt a leg but... I liked it and was so relaxed. I appreciate it lol

I enjoyed seeing Dr. Buck every time she is a interesting character along with other human characters. Anyone else agree.

Dam, I feel bad for that D-class prisoner... He knew he was going to die, so he wanted Agent Green to lead his younger brother down the right path in life and not to make same mistakes he did to put himself in the foundation and be used as a dispensable test subject... But it was too late and his brother was killed.. and it makes it even sadder to see that his last wish before death didn't come true...
Maybe in other life things could have been different.

I honestly admire the friendship between the doctor and d class. From greene actually trying to follow through on the promise to the d class actually putting greenes life first knowing the entity would definitely kill him
And if Greene hadn’t shown such compassion to him, they would’ve likely killed them both.

Glad to see these take a more story driven approach with reoccurring characters and what seems to be a overarching plot happening in the background.
I can only think of a few other channels that do anymore than just readings (lord bungs confinement, comes to mind.)
So it’s cool to see that you’ve stuck with that and I look forward to seeing what happens with these characters.
Can you write channels that you know that do that? I would love to know more :)

I love that you're fleshing out these people, including new ones and the D-Class, really making us have sympathy for them, even though we know they had to do something bad to be there. Also enjoyed that in some videos with Dr. Buck we feel bad and compassion for her, and in the next we fuckin hate her, giving me a lot of Game Of Thrones vibes with that..... Also love Agent greens voice, gave me a New York vibe with the voice, but without so much Italian.
Man I really feel bad for the D-Class. Even though they are criminals, likely having done awful thing, are still human. the fact that he understood he was gonna die and willingly went along with the tests, knowing he will die.

I am truly amazed by the fact that you can make the characters feel so "real" and interesting you truly create some beautiful shit and help us understand everything AND get us hooked in the story.

Also it humanizes the doomed d-classes. They must have done some serious shit to be on death row. But endless day to day pain, possibly instant death or worse - an eternity of torment in some endless pocket dimension or theirnsoul trapped in an object forever is worse than death penalty.

I like how Dr. Book is completely calm when D-Class's lives are on the line, but as soon as the thought she might be in danger, she immediately loses her cool.
D-class are expendable. Try understanding why they are so worthless, they’ve committed horrific crimes like rape and murder.

@@4m2Dragon4m2 I see, I do think she cares more for her fellow researchers than test subjects, as caring for them would cause problems, not to mention that she grew up in a Foundation-based (hah) childhood. Caring an inch for them is dangerous to her life, so her icy exterior is kept to protect herself and ensure she stays above others and keeps ahold of her precious rank. She seems like she has trauma from her father, and in recent episodes we see her fall in proposed love with the very man she patronized here, so she may just be a tough nut to crack. Mortal danger is often a nutcracker.

@@epsiloncentauri6067 they can if people know of the presence of those things and are told where they are. At least the entry had some cases where one person wore the 3D glasses, then told the otherd D-class or the researchers of the wereabouts of the creatures and they also got killed. It seems the requirements to get killed by them are:
1. Knowing their existance.
2. Talking to them (another way of acknowledging their existance).
3. Knowing their position.
Whether you see them or not is irrelevant. If you know of them first and know their position or talk to them you're screwed.
That's why the agent and the doctor didn't get killed. They knew... but they didn't react by turning around to the position of the creatures or tried to talk to them.

I like the theme of this episode in that sometimes, the monsters are those that you can see. Dr Buck was a monster much like the invisible monsters themselves.
I like how you made the camera sometimes pan to the glasses and muffle the voices of the characters. It makes you feel like the glasses are watching them. (it probably is)
I like how everything, and I mean *everything* , even the most innocent thing in the foundation, can easily kill you, or destroy reality as we know it.
Not everything, I'd say at least a third of all objects are benign, like 131, 500, 999, 1230, 1192, 191, or even 1370.

I believe you're getting that information from the Tale that claims he's destined to kill the Scarlet King. It's important to note, Tales aren't "canon" to the articles they reference, for instance 106 is not meant to be related to 3001 or Dr. Scranton, despite a Tale claiming the two are one in the same.

The OG story was of a little girl who was using the glasses. But they changed it to an adult man for obvious reasons

Wow, that was without a doubt one of your best vides I've ever seen. I love the added background to the characters which gave their ultimate fate a lot more gravity and depth. It wasn't even one of my favorite SPCs but this video made it great.

So what I'm hearing is the glasses make you too cool to live.
It actually just lets you see them, as long as you don't react to them you're fine. They only attack you if they notice you can see them, so putting on the glasses and ignoring them is perfectly safe, that's why buck wanted him to call out to them.
you can also react to them without having the glases, you will still die. What makes them attack you is them understanding you know they exist.
That's what I heard. I don't know about the rest of these guys.

Well, she needs to desensibilize herself before something manages to surprise her, I guess. She probably faces some trauma or very depressive stuff back on her innocent days, something related to the way she acts now.

@@thenightmarewizardcat She said in a previous video that her father is a high-ranking member of the Foundation (and he's personally disliked by everyone, including her), so she probably feels like she has a responsibility to get results and live up to her name, no matter the cost.

I think the Ethics Committee would certainly want to have a word with Dr.Buck due to her recent behavior causing unnecessary suffering to the test subject as well as her refusal to document the new discovery of the glasses in which the D class noticed no entities

I particularly like this video because it contains more color. In some older videos the quality was closer to a sketch than to an animation. Good job on the progress!
