There’s quite a bit going on neurologically, but it’s also a social anxiety stim. Stims change not only over time, but are also related to the situation - I stim differently when I’m excited vs nervous, when I’m doing material vs riffing and my brain is running faster than I’m processing it - like I said, it’s a lot.
