  • Mount Macdonald is located far beyond Pemberton. It is not the one in Chilliwack Lake area. This video briefly introduced our trip from the plateau to the beautiful peak.
We drove up to Pemberton and beyond to D’Arcy. Then we turned off onto Old Portage Road which becomes Birkenhead River Road. At around 50 meters after the 3 Kilometer sign, we turned to an old road on the right. This road is absolutely for 4W with high clearance. It is bushy at sections, which means you should not mind having scratches on your vehicles. We managed to drive on this tough road for around 2 kilometers and parked at 995 meters. Lots of mosquitoes! To our surprise, there is a nice trail all the way to the plateau, where we had our first but long break. Wind started picking up, and mosquitoes were gone👍. The plateau is very broad and has beautiful views. We had another lengthy break at the bottom of the peak. Lots of beautiful flowers. Our friend flew his drone checking our route to the peak. The last 400 meters is very steep, but nothing technical. Soon we got to the windy and cold peak. After taking some pictures, we quickly went down to a wind shelter for our lunch. And then we retraced our track back to our truck. C2C 7 hours 40 minutes including all the breaks. Totally 14.7 kilometers with 1458 meters of elevation gain as per my Garmin Fenix 7.
