In Holland we have these sugar coated coconut vanilla shortbread biscuits, and that is EXACTLY what Hedonism smells like to me. It's uncanny. Wonderful stuff!

That sounds like a great description of Hedonism - have to try those biscuits the next time I'm in Holland!

I went through a bottle of Peat Monster and thought it was excellent. I also enjoyed the Great King Street Artist Blend, but Peat Monster is more my style.
I do have unopened bottles of both Oak Cross and Spice Tree, but so much whiskey yet so little time to enjoy them all.
    Great review! 🥃

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! And I completely agree - too many whiskies, too little time...

I would put them in order from my favorite to least Hedonism, oak cross, and then peat monster. Hedonism is also one of my wife's favorites. We had the chance to taste hedonsim the muse an it was absolutely amazing. Everything you enjoy about the standard expression taken up several notches. Oak cross is one I start bourbon drinkers on their scotch journey with.

I've heard such great things about The Muse but never had the opportunity to try it - glad there's bottles like this though that showcase how lovely grains can be !

Hedonism is their top dram for sure for me. Spice tree and peat monster comes in a close second and third for me out of their normal series.

Interesting to hear! I think Hedonism is my favourite from them too - but I’m a bit bias because it was one of the first bottles I owned 😇

The only thing I’ve had from CB is the entry level Artist Blend. I feel like for all the hype it should be head and shoulders above other cheaper blends, and to me it hasn’t been. But admittedly I’m only about a third of the way through the bottle. I still want to try other expressions like these though. Just in less of a hurry to do so. Thanks for the review!

Oh interesting - I've never tried the Artisan Blend! I understand what you mean, I always have a long list of whiskies that I want to try ☺️ That you for watching!

@cascode Yeah I do still want to try the core range ones, but I felt a little let down by the AB. I just thought: Compass Box! Everyone says it's amazing! This'll be as amazing as a $42 blend can be! And then it was just...fine. I don't even plan on trying the Glasgow. So my fervor cooled. Not necessarily a bad thing really. Recommendation on the core?

Great review. I just bought a bottle of Hedonism for the virtual tasting at the end of the month. Felicitas is a bit of a reach. Slainte Mhath.

swedishwhiskygirl well alright. It was supposed to be Ireland this October for our 10th anniversary but maybe we’ll have to add Scotland now when we reschedule. Maybe we’ll take you guys out for dinner and whisky ;)

Helpful review. Thanks. I’ve enjoyed the Peat Monster, but the price of the Hedonism has kept me away-seems so expensive for “mere” grain whisky which, I must confess, I tend to think of as blend filler. I guess there is a whole grain whisky that wants exploring...

Thank you for watching! And I understand - there's plenty of more affordable grain whiskies if you are ever looking to try any, like Loch Lomonds Grain which is made with 100% barley which is one of my favourites, or Tweeddale's Grain of Truth ☺️
