Also, is there a way to chuck without a plectrum? I am a beginner and so far I find it too difficult to use a pic, It seems to want to slip out my hand!

I simply can't hold that opening Dm and move my index finger down for the descending bass line. 😮💨 Too much of a stretch.....Ugh.
