  • Greetings Travelers! Here I show my amateur painting style on the Reaper Bones "Skeleton Guardian" mini just in time for Icewind Dale, WOOOO! Also relevant for Frostgrave because even the DM needs their wargaming skirmish fix every now and then.
Watch me struggle between my lack of painting skill and low quality paints to what I would like to consider a decent paint job.
Take all of this with a grain of salt as I do put sand and hot glue on this Reaper Bones mini to get the desired grunge and icy effect. Enjoy!

The skelies look great! Icicles technique is an excellent idea. I use that same paint to base coat my minis. I also use the same brand of paint for most colors as well. Its thicker than normal miniatures paint but you don't have to water it down as much as you do with those tube paints you use. Granted there is a LOT of pigment in those tubes and you will not run out for ages, it just means watering them down as you know. You can check out some on my paint jobs and terrain on Instagram @keystone_sandbox - Keep up the great work!

It's been two years and nobody seems to have told you that you aren't suppose to prime Reaper bones because they're designed to be ready to paint.

Doesn’t it depend on the type of bones? They have like 20 different plastics they’ve used.

@@HouseDM I'm not entirely sure. I know they carry regular plastic but it seems sll their Bones line don't need to be primed. I'm basing this on what they said on their site.
