If you decide to do something like this again, it might be a good idea to show all of the cards you both picked in a TCGPlayer cart, that way the price total can be seen to confirm to any doubters that it was all under $20.
Man rogue tier Yugioh is unironically my favorite, more turns, random top deck nonsense, and just having a silly time is what playing card games with buddies is all about
Wow, that was funny to watch!!! It's been a good few years since i last played yugioh (i quit during ishizu tear format) so seeing actual interactive gameplay was very refreshing to see!
For a second I was confused why Nova's only Trouble Sunny target was the second Sunny on field until I google'd and found the cheapest Evil Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la was ~$19. what.
After getting an IRL Live Twin deck when they first released, I'm still stunned they're as cheap as they now are. Yippee for reprints!! Also yippee for Nova Miwa Shenanigans!!
Its possible to make competitive $20 Yu-Gi-Oh decks its just that most people are consumed with only wanting to pick up decks that they can play at full power and and Branded is one of the best examples as you can mix it with a multitude of archetypes and play it in several different ways. One of the best ways is to play it as a 50 card Grass variant that takes full advantage of its going 2nd applications without pushing the deck count to the point were its so inconsistent that if Grass is negated that you'll be in great peril. Labyrinth is also great especially since being able to immediately use Simult Archfiends and Daruma Cannon gives you a leg up against combo decks like Snake-Eyes and the Maliss deck which is already out in the TCG and OCG. Daruma Cannon also hits Ryzeal hard as it can't make rank 4s without face-up materials and at the same time Ryzeal is fair enough that even for all of its 1 card combos and free extenders Labyrinth can probably just use cards like Evenly Matched and Ice Dragons Prison and beat them just fine without Daruma or D. Barrier. Its not like the Dominus and Mulcharmy cards provide a advantage thats so game defining that other staples can't act as substitutes for them. With all of the non-engine space we have in modern Yu-Gi-Oh decks and all of the hand traps we had before the Dominus and Mulcharmy cards we don't need to spend over $500 on 6 cards to win a YCS and its simply just a unnecessary competitive advantage and nothing more. I mean if your deck can have 15-20 non-engine and if it has the ability to draw 1-3 extra cards per turn does everyone still seriously believe that they can't consistently win without cards like Mulcharmy Fuwalos and/or the Dominus cards. Some of the cheap staples that are presently good in TCG aren't more than $2 per copy and can be bought for lower than $1. Right now if people want to play a hand trap build the most expensive one Ash Blossom with the exception that if you want to pay about $8 per copy for Impermanence instead of about 2 euros from Card Market so you can get all of your hand traps from TCG Player.
Glad on AE was released HERO and Swordsoul ignition deck for $8 last december. Its playable and only need little adjustment. Its also have some staple. Yeah not best, but good for someone who wanna to try paper
Nice challenge would have been nice to see you two making the decks and the lists. I would make adventure phantom knights since the deck is really cheap and consistent and the end boards it can make are pretty strong and you don't have to care about nib.
Asia English's Ignition deck gave me an almost Maxed Swordsoul for around $15-20 lol It already has 2 maxx c 2 ash & 1 called by times 2 decks. So it was basically a done deed
Well you probably don't get this very much I actually am thinking about starting to be a vtuber later on in my life so I was wondering if I could get tips because I'm still kind of young so I'll probably start later when my money is stable but I was hoping if you could give me tips on how to become one because I'm really like your stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh and all the other stuff I am pretty new to your channel but yet I thought I could ask you and maybe in the future we could do a video together well that's probably never going to happen but I'm just asking for advice mostly
What deck would you build for $20?
Hmmmm, Dinomist! Released as a functional deck of mostly commons and they're cool steampunk dinosaurs!! A double win!!
Well thats easy like for the First Budget Tournament... SLIFER DRAGON LINK LETS GOOOO.
Tindangles
solfachord: 90% of the cost is two cards
Purrely, the deck is literally $15 for a core. $10 if you don't include e-noir. And that's including shipping aswell
Can you build a deck for 20$?
Yes.
Can you win a local tournament with it?
You better draw like a fucking God.
to be fair. sometimes budget decks do amazing.
This video was truly 13 minutes of purely “I fucked up” and “get fucked idiot” and I love all of it
normal nova stream
The next incarnation of Broke Boy Yu-Gi-Oh

I thought about that but tbh this video was recorded so long ago I lost the deck lists LOL

Ngl budget formats are super fun
For a second I was confused why Nova's only Trouble Sunny target was the second Sunny on field until I google'd and found the cheapest Evil Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la was ~$19.
what.
Iirc it only had one printing
My experience of this was building a cheap off meta-deck (Runick Ghoti) then realizing I don’t have a nearby locals to actually use it in
Budget deckbuilding is unreasonably fun. It also was my absolute favorite tournament we held back in 2023 haha! This is gonna be a fun one.
After getting an IRL Live Twin deck when they first released, I'm still stunned they're as cheap as they now are. Yippee for reprints!! Also yippee for Nova Miwa Shenanigans!!
Not Nova helping Miwa cook just to dark hole her a 3rd time

Miwa playing P.U.N.K is so incredibly based.

Well, this is fitting considering the next members-tournament is budget again
Yu-Gi-Oh on a budget hits different

I knew evil twins would appear when budget was mentioned but instead of punk expected Exosisters
4:43 double dark hole is devious work 😂😂
Woo! Nova video.
Blue eyes misplay dragon, unironically my favorite dueling dragon 💙
I would build Evil Twin but TCG got no alt art so what's even the point?
Ya know real why won't TCG feed us
Soon friend. We'll get them soon.
Eviltwin got alt cards in present
Regular arts are better anyways (I get why people like the alt arts but they just don't click for me)
No shot TCG still hasn’t got that shit yet😭 I thought everyone had them by now
(P.S can’t wait for the new support to drop for my girlssss🖤🔥)
Yay Miwa!
I play Melod, Evils, Mikanko, Labrin... I play if the cards are beauty waifus, I dont care about the powerfull meta 🗿
LETSGO NOVA AND MIWA COLLAB

So glad that Indo got to have AE/OCG as our Official format haha
I'd buy that for a dollar.
I bought a toon deck for 200 dollars
Just wondering if you have the actual deck list?

Wait a moment miss when did they reprint live twin???
It's actually been a few times LOL I think the only card that hasn't been reprinted was the main deck evil twin
On cardtrader I only find the original super and collectors prints 😭
Lol miwas deck was 90% hand trap's and staples
Or you can be a dummy like me and max rarity the deck 😔
