Could you use the lead to recreate the slit screen experiment that showed wave interference patterns? Could we interfere with gamma radiation to a point that it could be used to completely protect certain areas through interference? I know the interference effect works best from coherent sources, but a gamma ray burst Is much more coherent than radiation from any other natural source, it’s basically a space laser. Could lead with slits in it be used to protect from a gamma ray burst?
Iodine only helps when fission occured. It does not help a bit with an radiation other than that of the otherwise incorporated radioactive iodine that comes from fission.
Im new to learning about scalar (longitudinal) waves (Tesla), ionizing radiation, and militarys development of various DEW devices. I know we today have optical laser DEWS. i know we can have microwave DEWS. has anyone found any documents or websites describing ionizing radiation DEWS? all of this is of course, very concerning...
Weaponsandstuff93 if you bought it online like on amazon or ebay could you link it, im looking for some cheap geiger counter so i can check radiaton levels at my place, because there are myths that during nato agression in 1999, nato used bombs with depleted uranium to bomb hangars with planes, so i wanna check if they are radioactive because i live near them.
@@nexpreet US tanks fire a shell with depleted uranium. I believe it’s encased in tungsten. I’ve heard it’s looks much more bright and new than scrap metal should. Also gives off sparks very easily. I don’t know if any US bombs made with depleted uranium, of which I’m quite glad!
Radioactive materials are normally fine. The government gets concerned normally if you (1) have a large quantity of material (2) are trying to refine materials like uranium into yellow cake or fissionable material.
Although lead works for gamma, doesn't for for beta. Because of it's high Z value (atomic number), electrons will be slowed by the lead (eventually will be absorbed, witch works as a shield and that's ok) BUT, in the process of slowing them down electrons release an electromagnetic radiation (gamma), that's why it's better to put a piece of aluminium (or something with lower Z but high enough that would absorb electrons), between your radiation source and lead shielding, the piece of aluminium will completely stop the electron with a much much lower chance of the electron releasing a gamma radiation.
I know you are very knowledgeable and have done adequate research. But do still be cautious, I know here in the U.S. Cody's Lab on UA-cam was visited by federal agents after he did some videos on radioactive materials. He didn't get in trouble. I'm just saying even legal activities can some times raise red flags. But I appreciate your channel and content!
Cheers, I've read a lot of the UK laws in detail, if I am investigated for doing something legal then that's the fault of whoever wasting police time etc, not myself.
It really sucks that there are no gp5 replica filters because I love the look of them and the gp5 just doesn’t look the same without it’s original filter, any suggestions on anything similar to shape that is a tad bit safer, for cosmetic purposes, I don’t care about functionality rn
not trying to be political here, but are you worried at all about the Iran problem - is there any things you've added to your preps (i know you are not huge on prepping)
Cheers, when my better dosimeters arrive will do some better demonstration videos on exact numbers. Having a digital display calibrating well will help with that.
@@ate5ive866 because he's actively exposing himself to unnecessary amounts of radiation in an uncontrolled environment for the sake of a pointless UA-cam video among other things
In basic science, I’d learned Lead should be at least 20cm thick to be effective in shielding against Gamma radiation. I’m guessing radiation resistant armor is quite far away.
Looks like, live lead poisoning 🤦♂️. no PPE what so ever. You can observe in the beginning you aren’t showing signs of radiation ☢️ illness/flu-ish symptoms, but as the video progresses… your symptoms gradually increase. Good luck & great vid.
Plays with radioactive material and then coughs and says “sorry I think I’ve got the flu or something “😂
Yeah I don’t think that’s the flu…
It's merely a cough.
Very nice demonstration. You should also show how water makes an even better shield due to water being very dense.
Cool will do at some point, well water is great in volume, not as good for size as lead, as most people can't carry a fishtank with them.
water is 1/11.3 the density of lead.
I think you confused it with neutron radiation which is better stopped by water .

I'd say that 70-80% of his viewers have one lol.
(I do)
Paint your house in lead based paint, it was taken out of paint for other reasons other than lead poisoning......
Feeling fluish is a sign of radiatipn. I recommend taking iodine pills and eating seaweed

Point of the video:
You need more lead shielding man
Where can you get anything that produces high amounts of gamma radiation
Mate your gonna get drafted with all this stuff.
Even if he would like to go to the army, he wouldn't be able because of his asthma and ulcerative colitis
Fascinating Video
Thanks
Depends on the thickness of the lead and its proximity to the source of gamma radiation
hey how did you build you geiger counter, have you watched tutorial? if you did can you link it? Thanks.
It mostly came pre-assembled, I've still not got the Arduino stuff working with it.

Out of interest, can you legally own radioactive items like that?
Of course, otherwise I wouldn't show them in a video...
@@Weaponsandstuff93 brilliant, where are you able to get them?
Which particular check source?
Things like Radium dials, clocks etc are sold as antiques in shops and eBay. Thorium lamp mantles etc are also on eBay

Yeah thick plastic like acrylic works best for shielding beta sources to prevent braking radiation.
You are my favorite youtuber

The shielding will also re-emit all kinds of additional radiation - the equivalent of atomic shrapnel
its not neutron radiation...
whats inside of the box
I want to know what is in the box
Don’t tell your next door you have a box of radioactive material in your house 😂 they might have a breakdown 🙈
Don't worry it'll probably b molecular 😜
That's why in nuclear power plants and hospitals there is thick lead lining.

People are 3D printing them now, look on eBay
Weaponsandstuff93 thanks mate
If you're safe about it, you could cut one open with a can opener, remove the filter material and charcoal, then glue it back together.
Bryan Young hmm maybe
Weaponsandstuff93 I can not for the life of me find a 3D printed filter, do you have a link to one?

Where did you get the radium dust from.
Do you take any potassium iodide for your thyroid before these fun little experiments?
why would he?
no radioactive iodine involved here...
just wondering where you purchase your lead shielding from, planning to get some check sources soon, cheers.
thats lead for the roof
I want some uranium..how can i buy it
It’s very very very hard to purchase ANYTHING radioactive
Don't mess with Gamma rays that's the worst of all it's also in space
Hi love your vids
Cheers
I’m wearing a gas mask while watching
Witch one. I managed to get my earphones on under a gp5
Goddamit I just bought the elephants foot to play with
The lead is contaminated with radiation.
I don't think these type of experiments should be done at home 😐

you need my roman lead for that much better stuff than what your using

Yeah weirdly thermoplastic seems to work very well
Ah, so there could be something on the way.
Lead: 20cm
Gold: 14.5cm
Osmium: 10cm
that totally depends on the energy of the gamma...
0.5 milliroentgen. Not great not terrible.
The lead has already absorbed its maximum amount. That is why it is not helping.
thats not how it works
Try to convert it into electricity
