This work field is so amazing! The kind of stuff you all accomplish is astonishing. You guys are truly the back bone of America. Hopefully one day I will be able to work on engines like this.

hmmmm pretty good and impressive service workshop. I do work with CAT small series engines adjacent of 3600. I make an overhauling of CAT 3100 to 3500, C15, C18 and other old Classic models likewise D346PC, D346PC and D349 industrial, marine and Power Generator engines in Lahore, Pakistan.
Would have been a much better video going for 1/2 and telling us what you replaced repaired etc, new liners, new pistons, did ya surface the heads etc etc. Hopefully you do another one soon

At 2:55 you catch a glimpse of the replacement crank off to the left. I wish they showed more of it. Those are huge.

Wish I had that much room to build those. We only have about a third of that space. Lol

Had a customer get a great deal on having a C15 rebuilt for about 18k.....i can only imagine what this beast cost to repair! Whew!! 😳😳
A 3516 costs about $150k
A 3616 I would assume to cost 3 or 4 times that much

Did I miss the installation of the crankshaft in this vt? Block didn't rotate.
TheRebelOne Yes I think you are right. ? I did not see it removed or reinstalled Did not see liners or Pistons either.
At 2:55 you can see the new crank for a split second. Thats about all I could see.

I didnt see pistons, but did see cylinders pulled out. 2:04. I think they pull the pistons and cylinders out together.
If they done it the way we do it in our shop. Probably not manufacture approved. Which is why they didnt show it.
