I visited Finnish Lapland in 2003 as part of my honeymoon. My wife and I stayed in a log cabin in Saariselka for four nights. No northern lights for the first three nights but on the final night, lo and behold! As I was throwing my trash outside the cabin in my singlet, shorts and slippers, there they were! Green lights of various hues dancing in the sky! I quickly pounded on the door, got my wife and myself wrapped up and out in no time to view the natural beauty. I want to return to Finland!
August on our summer cottage in lapland couple years ago. Absolutelly no neighbours no lights anywhere. New moon so no moonlight. No snow, everywhere just black. Went to the lake shore and sit down. Weared headphones and had some really euforic music playing. Looked up and my goooood. That's when I really realized why people come here to see those things. Best way to describe how they move is dancing.
TeeDee87 The northern lights were ao beautiful, a lot more astounding as I imagined it to be, like when I see it in photos or videos. Your experience seems like one that can be cherished for the rest of your life! I could imagine how beautiful it felt just being there.
How I want to experience this so much! no light pollution and that crisp fresh air, so that I could watch both the Aurora Borealis and beautiful stars just with my eyes 😊
You can likely see them in Russia just as well as in Finland, Canada, Alaska etc. Only you have to go to the plar region as well, and I don't know hpw much tourist centers they have up north. And Norway, Sweden and Finland are pretty mild compared to the rest of the Polar region, because the Golf stream warms them (Well, not in the mountains, and Norway & Sweden have them a lot in the north). Maybe Iceland too, I don't know. In Russia it warms only about until Murmansk, the very northwestern Russia, Russian Lapland.
Hi We haven't made a video yet on how to layer, but here is one video on how to survive the cold: ua-cam.com/video/arrmZD2ncY8/v-deo.html In short, get good thermal base layer/ thermal underwear with heat tech, heat technology mid layer/ fleece. There are some good quality ones in Columbia or North Face, or if you want a cheaper option, Uniqlo has some good quality ones. Top layer needs to be down feather. Water resistant isn't that necessary but would be good to avoid your jacket from getting wet.
Loved it!! Amazing vid and beautiful photos of the Northern Lights! Bikini in the snow though?! LOL, crazy person!!! Simply awesome you had a sauna in that gorgeous igloo bungalow, you lovebirds are so blessed!! ❤️ I tried to call my sled service, but Andy did not respond 😂
Hahaha!!! The sky was too beautiful to not have amazing shots, it didn't look good with a 3 layer jacket ;). Tell Andy to practice his sledding services for next time! Hehehe :)
Nice vlog Coco! I am going to Kaks soon and was wondering if you can live in the small 2-person igloos or if those are just for visiting and not sleeping/living there? We tried to book but only had boring cabins or the monster expensive 6-person panorama cabins on offer, sadly. How does one book the small window-igloos?
Hi! The smaller igloos are for living too. You just have to make a walk to the toilets at night. Anyway, this link doesn't work? booki.ng/2OIdE8n Or maybe it is sold out during the dates you selected?
KELO-GLASS IGLOOS Our newly built Kelo-Glass igloos combine the comforting warmth of our cosy log chalets with the sensational views of our world-famous glass igloos. Sleeping up to six and featuring a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and a bedroom with a stunning glass roof, they’re made from Lapland’s unique Kelo pinewood. Take in the enchanting beauty of the northern lights and the Lappish wilderness from the comfort of your own private hideaway.
Wow its perfect but so cooooooolllld🤣💔 i hate feeling cold 💔 but I love Aurora 😂what should I do🤣🤣💔 and i have a question: how much you need money for a trip like this 😅🤔❤? Have a good day 💙
Hi Rachul! Approximately $1,000 per night for the Kelo-Glass Igloo.. As for the flights from Denmark, I can't recall haha! If you can survive eating one meal a day, breakfast is included in the cost. LOL.
Yet1009 camera. And I had to change camera settings to slow shutter speed so I can capture it. With phone it’s too dark. There are days where the aurora is really bright, you can capture it with phone, but when I saa it it wasn’t that bright.

It's weird: going into the small room of the sauna, you have to go through the toilet first. Imagine that your boyfriend is taking a shit, it breaks the atmosphere of the sauna.
Glass igloo walang CR eh, you have to walk to the toilets sa snow. Yung cabin mas maganda coz may sauna na, toilet, fireplace (you just have to purchase the wood), and may igloo view.
Why did you give us 10 minutes of airport/dining footage, but gave us no videos of the actual northern lights? It’s kind of weird that your video just completely ended after day two - I think you’re capping
