I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

I feel Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and.exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields

Putin is a dictator which maintains the power by means of violence and censorship.
      Putin's most known opponents:
Boris Nemtsov: Former Deputy PM, assassinated in 2015 near the Kremlin.
Alexei Navalny: Opposition leader, poisoned in 2020, now imprisoned.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky: Ex-oligarch, jailed for over a decade, now in exile.
Anna Politkovskaya: Journalist, murdered in 2006 for exposing abuses in Chechnya.
Sergei Magnitsky: Lawyer who exposed corruption, died in prison in 2009.
Boris Berezovsky: Former Putin ally turned critic, found dead in the UK in 2013.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Opposition figure, survived two poisonings, still active.
Do you see any pattern here?
These cases reflect a broader pattern of harassment, imprisonment, and even assassination of those who oppose Putin's regime.

Russia only allowed the two Germany's to reunited if NATO didn't go any further east than Germany as the US led NATO promised. But as soon as old communist Russia collapsed in 1991 the eastward march of NATO began. When Russia collapsed the US led NATO forced Russia to de-solve the Warsaw Pact but NATO wasn't ended either but Russia at that time wasn't in a position to do anything about it. The US led NATO is to surround Russia with NATO bases and bottle up Russia which is a dangerous thing to do to a nuclear nation. Imagine the Russians having bases all along the Canadian and Mexican borders threatening the US and how the US would react with Russian nuclear missiles pointed at the US and you can understand how Russia feels.
When the eastward march of NATO began Russia asked "why have you broken the agreement" and the US led response was "we made that agreement with the Soviet Union not the Russian Federation so the agreement is no longer binding as the Soviet Union no longer exists".

The USA would not and did not tolerate Russian missiles aimed at the Continental USA in Cuba in the early 60's and that situation came very close to initiating a nuclear war.
In just the same way Russia will NOT tolerate NATO/US missiles in Ukraine aimed at the Russian heartland. The US promised that Ukraine would remain neutral and not host any US/NATO weapons of war and that promise is well and truly broken.
Russia was therefore entirely justified in invading Ukraine in February 2022.

@@andrethorpe6183 might as well correct this misinformation as well. The Ukrainian people protested the betrayal by Yanukovych in favor of Russia. He fled the country. Could have stuck around, didn't. Protesters were killed. Did it make the west happy to have a western leaning leader in Ukraine? sure, no coup needed though. Ukrainians wanted western cooperation.

Yes, I agree that Ukraine's incursion to Kursk was a misguided tactial move. Here's the latest list of losses from Dr. Vladimir Kozin, Russian military expert, in a report August 29. Since the beginning of the AFU invasion into the Kursk Region (August 6, 2024), the Ukrainians have lost up to:
7,450 troops or 62 percent of the total estimated invasion force,
    74 tanks,
    36 infantry fighting vehicles,
    64 armored personnel carriers,
    486 armored fighting vehicles,
    227 motor vehicles,
    52 artillery guns,
15 MLRS launchers, including four of HIMARS MLRS and one other MLRS,
    five SAM launchers,
    10 ECM stations,
    two counter-battery radars,
