  • Sometimes, weight systems may require adjustment during a dive. Divers should be comfortable removing and replacing both their own and their buddy’s weight system.
This video explains how to remove and replace a weight system while underwater.

Depending on the proficiency of the student/s and of course the location, this is also a nice one to teach pivoting on the fin-tips or even slightly negatively buoyant. Thanks for the vid, SSI. 👏

I am curious about how a globally recognized agency can openly endorse and defend its purported expertise by advocating a practice of kneeling at the bottom, all while justifying it as a simplified learning approach for students. There appears to be no legitimate rationale for instructing individuals in this manner or promoting such a practice. Furthermore, we are confronted with the harsh reality that a significant 90% of newly certified divers struggle to maintain their buoyancy when stopping their swim and resort to kneeling underwater. This issue cannot be attributed to the students themselves but rather points to the instructors and, ultimately, the subpar standards within commercial scuba agencies. It is truly astonishing. Stop the madness! One of the driving force we want our materials to be a bit more widespread so it will provide a perspective for those divers who come from the commercial meatgrinder of scuba diving.
