I remember Geoff Tate in 1982 with the debut Queen of the Reich.ive been smitten ever since.i tried to copy his amazing vocals as a teen,an today! play all his cds I own regularly,his is the embodiment of a true musician,vocalist and producer, etc.Icon and a living Legend 🤴

A lot of people didn’t like his solo album but I loved it. It was a more intimate and personal side to me. It was outside the box that Queensryche has to stay in. Wish I could have seen some of those solo shows. To me Geoff still has it vocally and always will. There will never be another Queensryche singer.

I saw Geoff's solo tour at a club called "Toads" in Conn. back in 2002. Very cool show!
unfotunately queensryche (still one of my favorite bands) just couldn't live up to the expectations of their fans anymore, so we depend on this great singer to pull of something magical yet again!

One thing I appreciate about Geoff is he's never been afraid to show his tender side... you hear it in his music & feel it in your soul as he reaches & dips those amazing vocals. He's so masculine, sultry and loving; you just know there is a heart the size of the world in that chest of his.... My mom has said it before; he can be her Warrior & my Hero in these Last Days or Any Day!

+Karen Tate But there's also a floor monitor directly in front of his mic, I'm sure his vocal is coming out at some volume. If he HAD been using in-ear monitors, he might not have needed to cup his hand to his ear to hear himself. In-ears help clean up the stage and let each performer hear only what they want or need, with less stage volume and bleed. His level of talent and his ability to hear himself are two separate issues.
+Norman D. thank you for the information I didn't know that. I still say he has to have a lot of talent. and I don't believe he has lost his voice as some people believe and are saying he may have lost his upper register but that could be from smoking or it could be just age related. of course I don't know a whole lot about vocalization, I am no where near a musician and when I do try to sing I sound like a dying calf in a hail storm but I do have a great love of music.

Its not queensryche without Tate. His vocals put queensryche on the map... The man is 54 years old and can't hit them notes like he use to. This is where geoff should remain... solo.

Check this out, Geoff Tate is a damn good vocalist He is sir past bing a singer. Ive been to a lot of concert's when he was in Queensryche. Irvine Meadows the rage for order when they opened up for AcDc the Who made who tour. Long beach arena twice once when they open up for Metallica the justices for all tour and then when they went back to LBC for Operation Mindcrime. Everybody that I have played there music for became an instant fan. Fuck the critic's I love every song from his first solo album. Geoff Tate you write from your heart and sing from your sole. From a true fan Alex Keep on Trucking as they say.

Chain smoking since 1987/1988 is what lowered Geoff's octaves and really stunted his once Godlike vocal ability.
+Danimal300zx are you sure it is the smoking that caused the voice changes or is it age?? sometimes with age our voice changes.
Oh yeah, I was there, staff walked up to my lonesome....gave me meet n greet....while i was having a beverage......didnt go, but great show...dining and concert atmosphere....
I dont get it, I seen Geoff on this tour in May. I was expecting the place to be sold out and packed. But to my surprise, it wasnt even all the way full. Yet, Journey and Rush can sell out huge events but nobody comes out to see Tate. Doesnt make sense to me.

Not as horrible as his other live performances. Still doesn't hold a candle to DeGarmo and Wilton's acoustic work. This sounds like "The Killing Words" rehashed.
