Loved your video!! Thank you for sharing. I'm in the process of publishing my 1st book. Looking to do my book launch in 2 months. What are the measurements of your banner? My cover designer said I couldn't do I banner 33" x 80" with my book cover(JPG) somthing about..cover was created as raster in Photoshop & not as a vector, if resized to something bigger, it will become blurry. Please help. I got to have a banner. How was your designer able to do it?
Ingrid C thanks for the lovely comment! My banner was 2ft x 5.33ft (width by height). I had a similar response from Best of Signs saying it would be slightly blurry, even after my designer had readjusted the photo for a better resolution. As such, I looked again at the “sample” image and decided that it wouldn’t be as perfectly clear as my book cover and that was okay with me. Honestly, I actually forgot about going through this issue because although the image isn’t perfectly clear...I don’t think it takes away at all from the quality and marketing opportunity that the sign brings. This also was my only option, since my designer couldn’t do anything else to fix it. I wish I had better advice, but I hope this brings you some satisfaction knowing that even the one I used, enjoyed and still love is also not picture perfect 😊

Life of Dre Thank you so much, and congrats on becoming a new author as well! That’s so exciting! The banner was great quality for the price at $45, which includes tax and shipping. I added a link in this video description for the exact banner that I bought. I did go back to my graphic designer to ask him to adjust the book cover size to fit the measurements of the banner, which I think helped a lot with the quality. Book sales have been doing well since after the book launch party, but it’s mostly from additional marketing steps I took post the party. This means your promotion is really never over after the party! The biggest bulk sales I received were the week leading up to the party and the week after, which really helped my amazon ranking placement at the beginning given I did a pre-order prior to releasing my book. I’ll see if I can put together a video on post book launch marketing tips.

Where did you have your book launch? Because I wanted to rent a space but you mentioned that you decorated the place the day before the event. However, if I book a spot I would only have that one specific day to use the space. What would be the best thing to do so that I can decorate a day prior? I live in a small apartment so my place is not an option. Love your tips btw!
Hi! I hosted it at my apt but we hadn’t fully moved in yet so it was mostly empty. I recommend seeing if you can rent out a public space like a library or even a picnic style book launch could be super cute - sadly most you wouldn’t be able to decorate prior but cost effective and you can still get it done ahead of the event to have everything prepped.

When selecting your banner size do you select lumination as yes/no and uv print?
Inspire Me hi! I picked the L Banner Stand on the Best of Signs Site with the hardware. I don’t recall those two options you mentioned. There’s a Matte finish on the banner rather than a gloss, but that would have been the most out of options I had to choose aside from size. Hope this helps! Otherwise, the customer service at Best of Signs was pretty great once you start getting into the details 😊

Inspire Me yes! I love using Canva to make a ton of different designs. I highly recommend. For my banner, I used a Fiverr graphic designer to create my book cover and then had them adjust the dimensions / quality for my banner. However, I’m sure you can use Canva for this as well.
@@JulietPicard ok thanks so much for this info ❤️. Sorry to keep asking questions lol but I don't see the title as marketing banner on Canva. I see linkedin banner, blog banner,poster,etc. Which one would I select for the marketing banner?
Inspire Me hi! I didn’t create mine on Canva. But, you should be able to adjust the Canva dimensions to fit the size of the banner. I’ve done this before for posters, and there’s some great UA-cam videos out there that show you how to adjust a blank project on Canva to fit your custom dimensions. Good luck!
Where did you get the promotion card made?
I used VistaPrint and made my own custom Postcard for printing through them 🥰
Did you do your launch party the day before you launched your book or after your book launched?
Cindy Costa Hi! I had my party after my book had launched. It was during the pre-order period, so everyone could pre-order leading up to the party and then bring their copies to the party for signing. This helped generate more Day 1 sales 😊
How many copies of your book did you have with you on hand to sell at your book signing
I probably had 50 copies ❤️
@@JulietPicard thank you ! I went with an editor . & He told me I have to pay $400 to get 24 copies of my own book . My book is done . And they don't send me the original copy . For me to have a copy of my own book , I have to buy it off Amazon . SMH . This is my first book . I don't know how things supposed to go
