You may have figured this out later, but take care what armor and weapons you put on characters - if they’re not proficient in the type of armor or weapon, it can really hurt their abilities. For example, I don’t believe Gale can wear armor, only clothes. When you hover over the item in their inventory, there should be a “not proficient” warning at the bottom. You can also look up the character’s proficiencies or add more proficiencies as they level up. Sorcerers may also be limited to clothes unless they gain armor proficiency.
So I checked, and as a human Gale has light armor proficiency, but I don’t believe you do as an elf.
@@mollybmedia heyyy 👋🏽 yeah I thought so, because when I changed my character into armour I couldn't do certain things so this just confirms it thank you 😊 I just didn't know you could hover over it and it would be shown that way
"And suffer its sting!" Is funny. But not as funny as in early access when there was no cutscene and Wyll would jump down yelling "THE BLADE OF FRONTIERS!" and faceplant killing himself just as the battle started!

A really big tip: To really see something your character needs to be there, not only the camera. You won't find anything hidden or even anything out of sight of the character when you only move the camera to look. You will only get the general gist of the area, nothing more.
Keep the camera focused on the character (follow the character mode) and physically move to look, then You will finde hidden things like the lever in the crypt to open the unpickable door, and You won't get "what happened" moments because You know where You are walking and what is right in front of You. Don't forget: You are the character, not the camera!

hi, this vid is 2 weeks old, my playing advice is coming too late. use the ALT to highlight items on the ground, pickup the herbs, F-5 to quick Save the game before making dice rolls. Love your commentary

Thanks for the jolly playthrough! You're the only person I've found who isn't talking - and therefore being influenced, potentially spoiled by - to a chat; it makes for a much more individual experience that I really like to watch.
In case you missed it, when you level up, you can change things even if they aren't red. For example, the game chose Astarion and Gale's subclasses, but you could've changed them to better suit what you wanted.

And about Resting the party, before they drop, Dead?
There is short rest
and long rest
Short rests are great for long exploration.
When you're Party and TAV have been out for longer lengths of time.
One too many battles, brings down Morale, and you find out quick your team has buffs, fetige, or weaknesses from battle spell castings from higher level creatures.
Long rests Tho should be used sparingly
As Actions, and story plot doesn't stop, outside your Private encampment.
But thee story, can proceed, without your knowledge. So make sure, you check your environment, and your Teammates.
At Camp
Relax, Chat with whoever has a (❕)
Above them* This means they really need to talk to TAV
And if you don't get to them, still talk with them, they may still have something to say.
Level up, Re Spec Teammates
Devide Loot, spells, and useful items for Venture's
Check out Quest logs,
Read up coming Messages for Teammates private stories.
Keep alert for plot points
In the weirdest places and time's
Character plot points will come up, and let you know which Chapters, and Character's need your help, and rapt attention.
Romancing
Yes, you probably heard
thirsty Teammate 's can be Romanced
But like all Relationships
They can get strange, jealousy exists.
So feelz and thoughtfulness is advised
During these more intimate of experiences.
Testing Teammates tolerance, is between your TAV Sorceress Queen, and whoever's approvals you amount.
Adds to Team happiness, and Trust.
Gale Appreciates all good deeds.
Astarion is usually harder to please, and sometimes it's really just, better to do whatever you feel is best, for the situation.
Unless it pertains to your Teammate's personal preference.
Warning❗ Do not Venture past second Act. Till you finish 1st. Act
And so on. Because you may not be able to return to the places you visited before finishing them.
There might be useful items necessary for your journey, and your Teammates.
Fun fact Salami, and other item's like it, found amongst your Camp items, or Camp chests, can be used as weapons.
Try clubbing, or throwing them at enemies, or add them to your night time Rest Menus.
Hang back your healer, Like Shadow heart, enemies will go after everyone, but protect your Healer, and your party stands a better fighting chance.
Also recheck
Make certain to give your party and Campmates, weapons and Armor( They personally can Venture in.) Otherwise they may not be effective in protection, in the harder battles to come. And keep extra Armor in case you find a trader, or one of your party can use them.
Mostly experimentation is Key.
Astarion
He is your Rogue and xcells at lock picking, defusing bombs, setting them off, and he is a Rake, perfect lil Thief he can sneak, and has the highest inspired rolls which make it easier to make Critical 20
Among higher rollz needed, for you to smash. His bow accuracy is near perfect.
And as you know already his dule stabbing methods are fantastic.
He's also a Mysterious lil elf, and a sensitive one.
Be sure to converse with Teammates while stopping during, Venture's to get extra dialogue, and hints that add to story.
Most Reactors sadly dismiss, the Team, and selfishly miss some important talk, or added advice...

I would like to say, you can actually take as many long rests as you want, and I'd encourage taking them frequently!
The pacing of the game is weird and the main story suggests there's supposed to be a rush, but there are very few times where it'll actually affect quests (I can only think of one actually, trying to avoid spoilers but as a hint to people who don't know what I'm talking about, there's a lot of fire actively burning things), and you can miss cutscenes and important story/character bonding moments by not long resting enough. My first playthrough I ended up having to long rest like, four times in a row (thankfully you can do a partial rest without using supplies) because I had a backlog of cutscenes waiting for me.
Other than that, good advice!

Not a spoiler.
But having talks with the team after battles and before can lead to future hints, private quest inquiries or just fun party banter.
It also makes your team feel wanted and more willing to rate your TAV higher.
Be sure to check back often to party ratings of you. The higher their ratings the more they appreciate you as their leader, so on.

Astarion's still got his baby name, means
(Little star. ) Yeah Elves live to 900 usually in Fae run lore, Starri was only in his late 20s when Caz a bore, took him, 200 years prior, and made him into a Spawn slave. All because he saw that he could use his beauty, to lure pretty souls to him.
The elf suffers from PTSD.
He's really looking for a kind soul.
My favorite amazin Starri eyed Character.
We were in a cave Camp, when I went to his tent. He was lying down and looking at the ceiling.
He looked at my TAV and told her to move, he was trying to see the Stars.
While looking at the ceiling.?
Wondering what will, it be like had we found a healer in the Goblin Camp? And what would happen had we been cured of the Tad pole.
I said would he miss me?
He then mad cheek, and giggled.
Said why not?
Rose up and complimented me, and went into a whole monologue, about past events we went thru to catch up everyone who hadn't heard. then changed his mind, and told me he was just thinking about our delightful moment together.
You mean when you bit me? and wanted to know what the other Companion's would taste like, and as if a wine list, just entered his mind.
He wanted to play a ( hypothetical guessing game) of who would taste better, then asked my TAV what she would choose, out of curiosity. So after going thru the list, you of course choose him, and he giggles again, and tells you he's flattered, because you appeal to his Vanity,
But it was past feeding time, for kitty, and he left to go hunt down his prey for din din.
I love all the scenes with Starri, so much.
But in Act 2 there is too many ways you can go.
Tho you have to be careful, because you can miss so many quest markers, with Characters.
Listen to your teammates, banter to each other and stopped outside of camp, to chatt them up. As well, as at night time in camp.

Yeah, Kagha is a real piece of work! I have to say that I love how you made your character look, she’s beautiful in a unique way and she could easily be on the cover of some fantasy book!

I don't think you'll be able to afford the good stuff ✨ if you are not selling found weapons. Now you know where to sell them , though :)
Btw 45:20, for locked stuff, you right click in the object and select "Lockpick". Switching to Astarion for this is optimal, as he does it much better.
@Raphaelus13 yeah 😅 I keep forgetting I get a little overwhelmed with how much there is to do and what to sell and not sell but in pt 5 I'll ask you guys what you think I should keep and sell so I can become RICH 🤑😂
Don’t forget to add your bonuses to dice rolls, too - there’s an add bonus button at the bottom when you do a roll.
Hey @mollybmedia Will the bonus dice be limited? Or can I use them whenever I roll?
@@kiki_maliki It depends - some are based on abilities you and your companions have, some are based on what you wear or the circumstances. More often they can be used over and over, limited ones seem less common. So for example, Shadowheart casts Guidance as a cantrip (doesn’t use her spell slots) bonus, which adds up to 4 points to your roll. You can use that all the time. The armor Cat’s Grace gives the wearer advantage bonus in Dexterity rolls. You might have advantage available because the roll is about being a sorcerer. Usually it’s best to use them if you have them.

@@kiki_maliki Right. And to be specific, if you haven't figured it out yet, at 13:00 there's a button that says "Add Bonus". If you click it you can then use Shadowheart's Guidance cantrip. It adds an extra d4 to your total roll. Since it costs nothing, can be used infinitely and has no potential negative consequences, you should pretty much use it every chance you get. Also, since you chose "Friends" as one of your character's cantrips, you can use that as well to gain an advantage on your rolls (roll two d20s then use the higher one). Since you're on "Explorer" difficulty, you should be able to use it somewhat indiscriminately without repercussions. Just don't use it on your own party members though, as they get pissed off that you used magic to manipulate them, causing your reputation with them to take a hit.
