Thank you Jaredlake!! I really appreciate the compliment. I have day 2 orientation (Pre-Hire Evaluation) video in the works. I should be done with it this weekend when I get on hometime!! And you are very welcome.
No, I know for sure my class did not have to do that, but I would see how that would be a good measure of physical ability. I go back and forth under the trailer plenty during securements. Otherwise, I would have to walk all the way around the trailer over and over and that adds up in time spent on duty real fast.
@@conradebanks2224 started few days ago with my trainer (first load was oversized so, lucky huh) 🤣that GPS tried to take me through a super tight dirt road in Alabama. I’d never trust this GPS lol 🤣
I don't think that will have any impact on the hiring process. I think they are mainly concerned about back, neck, knee problems or something that will prevent you from doing physical labor for prolonged periods of time.
Yesir!! I am collecting content daily. I've just been truckin nonstop. Running on recaps no real downtime to edit my videos. But I'm going to have time in late September when I go on hometime. And I'm going to try to squeeze in at least 30minutes a day of editing after driving so I can post more often. I'm on it right now!
It was a very big class! I'm not sure how many people showed up but every seat was taken. They ended up hiring over 90% of the class. Melton hired ALOT of good drivers this class. They were very happy. I'll see if I can get a round about number of how many people actually showed up on day 1 and include that in my next videos. THank you!!
@@emiliosTA bro your the man! Thanks for the info. Only thing that was getting me worried was she told me there is heavy lifting but I’m ready for it! Thanks man! I’m subscribe

@@emiliosTA bet bro i’ll be on the look out for that part 2
I read somewhere that the candidates have to duck walk under the trailer during the physical capabilities test. Is that true?

Hey man, I was in your class. Nice work putting this video together.
Thanks brother!!
Melton has change everything
Do we have to take a dot physical during orientation?
No you will have to do that before orientation.
Does Melton provides GPS when you get your own truck? I start orientation Oct 7th, im pretty excited about it.
Yes they provide you with a tablet. It has GPS.
As a current driver, don't blindy trust that GPS or you'll end up in a bad spot. Its basically trucker path/hammer quality but slightly less reliable.

Great video
Thank you, there is way more to come just need to get some home time to start the editing process. September looks promising.
@@emiliosTA be safe out there, I’m on my 3rd week by myself
@@DAVOY2 Right on man! I'm on my 4th week solo.
So on the medical evaluation if you had a cough, (flu in 2019), do you not get hired and they hold that against you?
I don't think that will have any impact on the hiring process. I think they are mainly concerned about back, neck, knee problems or something that will prevent you from doing physical labor for prolonged periods of time.
Did you have to pay full price for your own room or did they give you a discount?
Melton will pay for 50% of the room if you decide to get your own room. Just let your recruiter know before you head out to Tulsa.
How was the drive test/skills? Was it weird with a split axel
Yes, I'll get into that in the day 2 video. It is more difficult backing with the split axel for sure!
How would they feel if you’re overweight but have no issues performing physical tasks?
I believe if you perform well despite your weight you will be good to go! There are plenty of drivers that are overweight.
Do they hair follicle? I start orientation in 2 weeks
You will have to take a hair follicle test before you head to Tulsa. Have you already taken the urinalysis?
Hey bro good video I start Monday I wanted to know if your traning pay is taxed or not ? Awesome video hope you got a good trainer man
The initial pay is cash, non taxed. thereafter it is direct deposited and taxed. You're looking at about $637.00 every training week.
