$1 Dollar Not Kawasaki Rose (no music)

Turn an ordinary one dollar bill into a lovely rose! (Designed by Jeremy Shafer) This model can be folded from a dollar as I show in the video, but it's actually even better folded from a 1X2 rectangle, that way you can skip folding in the edges (see 1:00 and 1:20). The $5 Euro banknote is 62 X 120 which is reasonably close to 1 X 2. If your country's currency is shorter than 1X2 then you will need to fold the long edges in a little bit in order to obtain a 1X2 rectangle. Of course, money folding is only really popular in the U.S., right???

Listen to the man and pause the video at the end of looking at him do a fold. After you pause the video attempt the fold. If you still don't know how to do the fold, rewatch said fold. That is the key to doing origami from a video. Also, if you have trouble with fold creasing especially with thicker folds, use tweezers. Thanks for the video Shafer!

Excellent tutorial . I like your channel and the way you explain things. It did take me a minute, but there is such a thing as pause and rewind as well as change the speed for those who have trouble. Thank you for all your efforts as I know it isn't easy!!!

Yes I do use new dollars. I have found them at my local bank in the past, but I got these on Ebay. Search for "uncirculated dollar bills" (be prepared to pay a 22 cents extra per dollar).

+Jose Ballin It's an outside reverse fold which means that front layers get valley-folded and the rear layers get mountain-folded. In other words the flap gets turned inside-out and flattened on the existing creases. It might help to watch the video in slow motion. Do you know how to watch videos in slo-mo?

+Olivia Springer If you got the outside reverse fold at 6:08.... well just repeat that on the other side. The flaps will overlap and that's ok. Then 7:16... just switch the front two layers, so that the top flap is no longer on top. Hope that helps!
