  • Today's guest is the amazing Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers and his 1965 Guild T100D "Slim Jim", made in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Although The Wood Brothers haven't been able to tour this year, they did release a great new album called "Kingdom In My Mind" and also re-issued their album "The Muse" on vinyl for the first time. They're doing a complete album performance of "The Muse" via webstream on December 18th, check out the info here: liveforlivemus...
Oliver also released two solo songs a few months back and those are certainly worth many listens: open.spotify.c...

The decorated guitar case in the background looked interesting , another great episode wonderfull playing and vocals, lots again to contemplate on you have really articulate guests on who just casually mention something and bells ring out and demand a relisten

There is a tiny small amplifier made for very low volume that i own and you can get the king of sound that oliver wood has with it called the: yamaha THR10C. i love mine

Darn - when i got the Gibson endorsement i asked them to build me a hollow body les paul shaped ax - instead they gave me a Howard Roberts - (which as you know Neal snagged from me for a few years!) anyhow this guitar seems to be the one that i had in mind - on my wish list now! Great show Gary!

I don't hear enough players mention Snooks Eaglin very often. Kudos. Dizzy Miss Lizzy!

Contrary to the statement made, no single cutaway Starfires had an interior block. Additionally, an interior block is not necessary to add a Bigsby.

Nice ! I stumbled on this vid after I already hunted down a guild t 100 d. I was wondering if you have the bridge fastened to the body, or is it floating? My Guild is in transit from the states to Australia, exactly like yours but a 66, the last year before the guild factory moved , I can’t wait. What’s your view on the difference between the MM pick ups and the earlier Franz they used on these guitars. I’d love to see the Wood brothers live someday, come and play at the Byron Bay blues festival.
