Another fascinating look into design philosophy. I would love to observe Mr. Fairbanks' process at rehearsal; it sounds magical. I hope the teams that chose to share insights into their shows are rewarded competitively. I've not been as invested in WGI this much, pretty much ever. It is thanks to this series.
@17:54 his description of a conventional show - spot on but also makes me think of the movie Brazil! @19:26 - I've always had an idea for prop movement that would make it seem as if the performer vanished. Avon, when in Open class somewhat achieved that feat with their 2001 show Sleek. They had vertical props that would slide around the floor and "wipe" the performer from the floor. I'd love to see something like that but more complete and at a higher velocity.
A show dedicated to the devil lol, it's funny how many programs are dedicated to the devil these days. Those are some sick uniforms though, very next generation.
I smashed that like button for you Dan. 💯
I was not aware Mr. Fairbanks was associated with GMU!
But if you listen to the show in reverse you hear Dan Schack reading his favorite bible passages
💀
This show was insane in person
Fye.
As clarified by the major motion picture book dock saints: I believe the word you’re looking for is: sym-bo-lism.
Incredible film. Willer Dafoe kills that role.
The shack is back!
