I applaud your transparency man. I had to do the exact same thing and trade down for a less expensive car. I don't regret a thing. Nowhere near as fun as my last car, but not in the shop anywhere near as much as the last car 😂. The Macan is nice as hell though!

I loved my Macan S! I feel like this car is slept on by the car community. I did a Cobb stage 1+ tune, throttle commander, MBRP exhaust, air box mod with k&n filters, H&R lowering springs, 22” wheels, and a full red interior swap. I learned some things while owning it that I am happy to share:
- Tune is 100% worth it. Stage 1+ is decent. To do dps (and stage 2), it’s an engine out process!
- Lowing springs didn’t seem to make the ride any worse! The 22” wheel killed the ride. Avoid those.
- The MBRP exhaust is essentially a muffler delete. It sounded amazing, maybe the best sounding car I’ve owned. However, it did drone. I’d recommend a valved exhaust or an exhaust dump with a valve.
- Two common issues with the macans that may not apply to your year: (1) Timing chain covers like to leak from the aluminum bolts breaking. The transfer cases can go if you don’t change the fluid.
I did some autocross events in my macan on all seasons and for an suv it really didn’t do bad. I wasn’t the fastest but it was fun.

LG - thanks for sharing your experience, what year is your Macan, and how reliable was it before the tune and after the tune? I owned a Cayenne S , with the V8. After I had the issue with the transfer case it was sold all the way to 140K miles. I was the original owner and I did all the preventive maintenance and required maintenance.
I am sad to see you went from the nice M5 to the SUV. Its a porsche and surprisingly the suv is there best selling vehicle... but got to make money moves.
Yeah I will definitely miss the M5. Once the house is finished I will be back in the game
maybe if you broke down the payments on the m5 vs the porsche id be able to understand better. saving 500 a month doesnt sound enticing
love ur content bro but i dont get how you can justify spending half the cars vin value on mods and say you have to get rid it because of financials. Maybe just sell and get a stock m5 and payments can be 30-40% less? idk doesnt make sense to me
Well, most of my mods are free or heavily discounted due to my affiliate deals I have built. I sold the mods to get rid of the negative equity on the car and broke even to get rid of the car. Buying a house is more of a debt to income ratio game with the bank, so I needed to get rid of the car. Buying the Macan saves me over $650 a month and no way I could have done that with the M5. I did the math and it would not have worked out
Also I did not spend half of the cars value in mods. My mods MSRP is like $20k I prob paid about $9k out of pocket. But I made $15k from the sale of my G80 M3 so still in the positive.

lol I guess they don’t make suspension, down pipes, turbo upgrades, charge cooler upgrades, wheels, carbon fiber bits, exhaust systems, intakes, tunes or any of the parts on the fabspeed, APR, or flat 6 Motorsport website. Those must be fake parts😂. They literally make every single mod for this “random” SUV that was offered on the M5. But that’s why he’ll retain and gain people with this platform. BMW guys gravitate to Porsche and then there’s the clueless people that don’t know either world….. Respectfully

Awesome buy man! I love those cars. Those macan's definitely get overlooked because people are too concerned about M cars and hellcats and plaids lol. And while those cars are insanely fast, they don't have the prestigious background of a porsche. That german engineering. With those miles and that year, i think it's a good find for anyone looking for a nice, sporty quick SUV!

Happy for you! I traded my M5 a few months ago for a base cayman Chalk With Red Interior and Sport Chrono. A lot of my friends had raised eyebrows, going from all that power to something with 300hp but i also want a Macan for my son to ride with me in so awesome car! I can’t wait to see someone build a cool macan!

I like the Porsche Macon; I used to have a Porsche Cayenne S. Make sure you check the maintenance records regarding the transfer case; they are known to have transfer case issues. This is a well-known issue once you look into it. I'm looking forward to seeing how your ownership goes. I want to buy one to honestly thrash as a daily driver.
Yeah that is one of the reasons I got the refreshed model… in 2019 they beefed up a lot of things. The car was corp car at a foreign cars shop so they maintained it well based on the records

When buying a house it is better to eliminate debts which the M5 was. At the end of the day it was unnecessary for me to have a that expensive. The M550 I want was out of my budget plus there are more cars in the world than BMW.
