Well done Spencer. Once you get to regularly put down new brews and tweaking the process you will be making amazing beers. These new age all in one home brew kits are amazing! Here in NZ we have system called Williams Warn. They do kits of varying sizes up to 50 litres and many different beers. From go to whoa you can be drinking a beer in a little as 6 days and the results are amazing.
Traditionally in the UK the blue object is your barrel, where you mix the ingredients and the magic happens. Don't call it a 'pinter' it hurts my heart. You've been to the UK and know this, Spencer, you're one of us now!
I use the traditional home brewing system of a separate bucket to brew the beer in, then after a week, siphon into the barrel for conditioning and serving. Once you've got all the equipment, a good-quality beer kit costs around £25 to make 40 pints, or £0.65/pint. Bargain!
I’ve often thought about brewing, this gives me the kick to try it! Loved this

Famously popular during the 1970’s it always had the reputation of great beer but exceptionally alcoholic.

Even translated to US dollars at $1.38 you'll be hard-pressed to find a pint that cheap anywhere!
Just checked the price I paid and it was £90
