Never in my life would I ever figure out on my own how insides and outsides end up going where when you turn them round or inside out or whatever. This is such a clear, insightful, great tutorial. Thank you! :)
Just made these and I absolutely love how they turned out, wearing them now :) I'm planning to make a few more for my family! Thank you for such clear instructions, found it extremely helpful! Can't wait to try more of your patterns!
This is fantastic I've been trying to think of a gift for my mom and this is perfect! Also the trick with puff paint for non-slip is so clever, I never would've thought of that! Thanks for the tutorial
I recently took a beginner sewing class and I am going to try this. You made it look like I could do it!!! So cute and so informative. Most videos just say "sew together" without elaborating but you gave such good instructions. Thanks!
Just downloaded the pattern and wanted to know: If you are suppose to add 1" to the length of pattern after you know your foot size do you need to add anything to the width of the pattern too before cutting even if you don't have a wide foot?
I'd suggest comparing the pattern to the sole of say, a flip flop shoe, to determine if you need more width. Or at the very least stand on the the pattern and compare it to your foot and make sure there's a little more than 1/2 inch all the way around.
Great tutorial ! How much should we overlap for kids for the ankle part ? And also, on the pattern, does it say how much more fabric you will need if you are making the slipper bigger ? Thank you !
Nice! Can you tell us what kind of needle you use with fleece? I'm new at this and this morn I tried sewing a pair of fleece jammie bottoms and the fleece got stuck in my machine. Help!
Thanks! I'll definitely have to try this out. My slipper order for a cosplay that I need to complete by Wednesday failed miserably so I will try out your template! Any advice on making modifications to them? (mine will have talons so I'll improvise a bit)
@@Mellysews I was able to make them! Not flawless, but your video was everything. Nothing urgent anymore but I never received the pattern after I signed up on your website the other day.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to find a pattern for shearling booties but can’t find it anywhere. Just wanting to make something a bit more sturdy for my boys. Maybe I can do the fleece with a non slip sole for inside wear. Thank you!!
love these. I have tried to subscribe to get the free pattern. the welcome email still hasnt arrived and it has been two days. any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Thank You
@@Mellysews okay thanks I hadn't't print off yet just watched the video I'm more of a visual learner the commercial patterns often confuse me but looks like yours is simple!

I really couldn't say, I'd suggest measuring the kid you're sewing for.
Fun project! Thanks for sharing! 😊

Universal, same needle I generally use. More here: mellysews.com/how-to-choose-sewing-machine-needles/

love these... can you do a video for your prepster pullover shirt as well?
It's possible, but not something I have plans for at the moment.

Awesome. I love slippers :)
Thanks for watching!
Can we do this with a double sided fabric like a Flannel Sherpa combo???
You could, but you'd have raw edges and seams that would show if you didn't line it.
Yea👌thank you 👍🏼

Hi! Could these be made with leather instead of fleece? Thank you!
Maybe? you'd probably have to do some adjustments to account for leather being thicker and less flexible than fleece.

Can I use my serger for this?
I don't recommend it for the part where you attach the lining to the outer
I can't find that sherpa ... the one I bought was horribly fuzzy like snow fuzz everywhere....
I’ve used that kind too. I just vacuumed when I was done sewing.

What seam allowance are you using?
It should be noted on the pattern.
