  • Question: I have a 7-year-old mare I've started on the Method. She’s the 4th horse I've started. We're on our 6th session of roundpenning and I still can't get her to follow me. I've gotten her to turn her body and face me, but she only does that when I tell her to change directions. Once she turns her body, I immediately turn away from her. She will stand there and give me two eyes for a good 5 minutes, but she won't take a step toward me. I’ve watched the roundpenning video at least 10 times, if not more, and I can't figure out what to do. I'm worried about her starting to shut down if we spend too much more time in the roundpen. Is it OK to move on for now and revisit it later? Or do I keep going until she gets to the middle of the roundpen?

And take your predator eyes and body pressures off of him so that he CAN draw in.
