I just wash it and put in water, I check the color of the water until it gets brownish but not too dark then I remove the leaves

That's one way not to feed until the fries are free swimming. But you can also feed with bbs, I have that in the video I'm working

It should not be cold as the fry wont survive cold water :) so during summer is the best time ti breed or if you can mimic that temperature during summer

He has to be comfortable with the tank. Check your water parameters and go ahead and get some real plants in your tank too. You want to look for something in at least 20 gallons (long usually better) for breeding.
