You are one of the very best guitar teachers on UA-cam! Thank you!!
Thanks, Jim - I appreciate your support!
I TOTALLY agree!
Hiy Mike, so glad to finally meet you. Retired now from nursing, and i hope to Finally tear into your lessons - my favorites !!! Thank you for each and every one !!!
Thanks for the kind message, Michael. I hope you continue to enjoy what you find on my channel!
After 30 years of playing boring rhythm with open chords, you're helping me learn to play leads and riffs up the neck, and I'm having a blast!!
If I'd had you back when I was learning as a teenager, my life might have taken a different path.
Thank you so much for the enjoyment I'm having now!
Thanks for the kind feedback - I’m so glad to hear that!
Nice to finally see your face and meet you. Yes, I have followed your lessons for years and LOVE your critique and break down of the player and the songs. I am much older than you...but ALL your songs are from my era and love! I really appreciate ALL your hard work that you put into your Channel! You are a GREAT teacher!👍🏻
Thanks Ray Boston Massachusetts
Thanks so much for the kind words, Ray! I was born in Cambridge and spent my first 27 years in Massachusetts. This is my 60th year, so we’re not probably too far off in eras!

I actually say Ray from Boston but I was born in Framingham Ma.
My mother was born in Cambridge in 1923 then moved to Natick. I currently live in Milford Massachusetts. I spent alot of time in Harvard Square on the common(thoes were the days, 1970)..back in the day it was the hot spot for all activities related...to THAT TIME. I think you get it. Thanks for responding!
Again your work is MORE than appreciated!
Ray...Milford Massachusetts 👍🏻😉
Your WHY makes you the best guy out there helping us out.
Greetings from TX. Thank you for many great lessons over the years. Good to put a face to the voice. I appreciate your work and commitment to providing great content to the guitar community.
Thank you, Chris - much appreciated!
I did see your face in one vid some time ago. 🤘🏼
Thank you very much for your very clear and informative lessons over the years, Indeed, understanding the 'why's' that you have explained has made me unafraid to figure songs out myself! Cheers.
You have created a great teaching channel. Thank you
Heartfelt thanks for the lessons over the years. You've helped my playing a lot. Basic principles. Thank you.
Thanks for all the good information………like your informed teaching!
Have learned a great deal from you Mike. Thanks for all your time and effort in teaching us all.
You’re most welcome, Rick. Thank you for the kind feedback!
Thanks for these lessons -- I'm glad I found you!
Thanks, Joe!
For many years I've been picking up helpful info from Hoodrio. Pay attention whenever you get a chance. A lot of great lessons. Thank you sir.
Wish had listened years ago to the importance of theory.
Thanks Mike! You are the reason when in 2012 I built a “Jazzcaster” (Jazzmaster body with Telecaster pickups) that I used the Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue bridge pickup! 😎 Thank you for all of your contributions to help make us better guitarists! You rock! 🤟🏼 - Mike in MI
Thanks back to you, Mike! That sounds like a very cool guitar and I’m glad to hear that the Donahue is working out for you. I’m still loving mine.
Many Thanks for your lessons. !!
Thank you for sharing your musical and guitar knowledge with us over the years Mike. The content of your channel is straight forward and very informative. BTW, so nice to now connect your voice with your face. Great channel and as always, thank you!
I appreciate your support, Jim!
Excellent lessons!
hello, I just discovered your channel and found very interesting and useful lessons!
however, many times I would also like to have the tabs to better understand what to do and in what context it should be done.
Thank you for your attention and compliments on your ability to teach! 😀
Well done!! I love your lessons and teaching philosophy.
Thanks for the introduction Mike. You've been the greatest help to my learning licks and solos over a lot of years. Really appreciate your explanations of 'why'. Thanks from Aotearoa.
So glad to be of help. Thank you for your feedback, Dave!
Mike, you are much appreciated, sir! Both here, and at TDPRI. You break things down into a very understandable way, and it helps immeasurably. Thank You, Very Very Much, from the opposite side of Mt. Hood!
Thanks for the kind feedback, Jimmie - always great to hear from a fellow Oregonian!
Great stuff.
Great guitar teacher. Good to finally see your face. Somehow I'd pictured you looking more like Randy Newman ..
Hi Mike. I've been following you for years. You're videos are very helpful.
Love your lessons. Thanks for all the great work
Looking forward to exploring your channel. I enjoyed your Brown Sugar lesson and immediately subbed.
If you haven’t done a lesson on Rock and Roll Hootchie Coo yet it would be cool if you would. The song isn’t that complicated but the picking and timing are critical to get it to sound anywhere near right. Thanks!
thank you for your wonderful lessons !
I came across your lessons a couple of times and subscribed. I am an intermediate player who after many years of strumming... Is learning a little bit of lead guitar. Thanks for these explanations... I'll be checking those tools you mentioned!
You are a legend sir! Thank You...
You are too kind, Stephen - thanks!
Love ur lessons there very informative. Thanks.
Just found you...looking forward to checking it all out.
Good rip- your guitar tone is amazing! Can you share some tips? I’d love to learn how to get this tone. Thx, Bill
Thanks, Bill! If you mean my tone in this particular video, I was actually plugged straight into a Fender Champion 20 with an upgraded Celestion speaker, on the fender twin reverb setting with some Reverb and Delay. Gear doesn’t have to be expensive to sound great!
I've always pictured you a lot older than what you're actually are.
2022 is my 60th trip around the sun, so you probably weren’t too far off.
Same, I pictured him looking a lot different. 🙂
@@Hoodrio you look like you're between 39-41. Good for you!
