There are so many fascinating differences about New Zealand that make this place such a wonderful place to live. I'm here to answer all your questions and make your move to New Zealand as smooth as possible!
It really depends on how much you drive and the oil change intervals recommended by the car's manufacturer. Kiwis also tend to drive a lot less than 'mericans.
New Zealand is a small country so yeah, they dont drive nearly as much as North Americans
I’ve always gotten it done once a year since they change the synthetic oil. You don’t need to do it more than that doesn’t matter how much you drive.
Don't think so every 10000 kms or yearly what ever comes first.
Hello from NZ where I've done oil changes maybe once every 5 years (no trouble at all caused by that, but I only drive older cars). BTW if you buy the oil and know where to find the bung, do it yourself... easy.
3 months or 3 thousand miles is a holdover from days gone by. If you look in the owners manual, you’ll see what it specifies in there. Though many advocate now cutting it by a third or half. The flip side, I’ve worked in industries where a Dodge 5500 diesel got an oil change monthly because that was how much they were driven (7000 miles or so) and 12 quarts each time.
I live in NZ. I do it every 10000kms. It's cst more than $ 120.
With better oil, it is up to every 15k miles. I change my oil once a year because I drive less than 8k miles per year. I have been told miles wise I don't need to change, but it still gets dirty sitting out on the road.
I never do oil changes and have never lost a car to it. As long as the oil isn't leaking it won't blow up. Depends how much you love your car I guess.
It costs my partner about $100 at least to get his oil changed on his truck in the US. Like where are these people getting cheap oil changes?
Who comes up with this stuff? 😂
In the US we change our own oil and it only costs $25 (I just changed my oil (5 US quarts) and filter). We're not nervous about it in the least. The frequency isn't determined by months. It's either mileage or hours, depending on the application, as many vehicles idle a lot while some are driven extensive mileage with little rest.
Edit: Always follow the manufacturer recommendations.
❤❤❤ in NZ u can change your own oil. to save money 😅😅😅 ❤❤❤
I find it's quicker too as garages you gotta wait... much easier doing it yourself
Change your engine oil & all the filters check you brake pads & front disc unless you got all disc & spark plugs & get OBD reader brings up all faults
I think it would be 1x minimum. I think ours gets done 2x a yr with the service. It really depends on how long you want your car to last. And how frequently your car is used i believe.
Learn how to do a oil change your self, i do all my families cars for them its easy, hell i taught all the kids how to oil changes spark plug changes how to change a flat tyre, how to hide a tyre iron when changing flat tyres ( for safety reasons ) lol
I change the oil and filter every 10,000 kilometres.
Yeah how often they get an oil change is irrelevant. You change the oil as often as it needs to be done based on the vehicle and how its used. It has zero to do with what country you are it.
Nope... there's no need to get 3 oil changes per year for any vehicle.
@@gissyb1 there definitely are vehicles who need oil changes that often based on how they are used, but you are correct that the vast majority of vehicles don’t need that
Only once per year? I get my done every 8,000 km and that is a lot more often than once per year.
Lol... Once a never is more like it in nz.
Hi how can connect you for immigration consultation
go with manufacturers specs
I wonder why folk think Americans drive more than nz or that nz doesn't have vastly varying weather...
Most nzers I know never change the oil... I did 10 years with a Toyota hilux 900 000 odd kilos and only did 1.
Part of it could be that people drive a lot more in the US, and NZ experiences less temperature extremes compared to the US.
Get a car that you never have to put fossil oil into.
Then you would not have to do an oil change.
Just change the battery once in a blue moon.
How much for the battery change? azzhat
It depends on the type of vehicle and how far and how often the vehicle is driven. But overall you really only need to do it once or twice a year in NZ
What sorta oil you using? My oil costs about 40 bucks
$40 for 4L? Need about 8L? And then you gotta pay someone to do it. So she's right.
pay someone to do it? nah mate that money could be better spent on a video game... I change it myself. Mechanics are more corrupt than politicians. They charge like wounded bulls. It's easy to do and besides I ain't got time to wait for him to do 10 other cars before he hits to mine and then he will say "oh this needs to be fixed top and try to swindle me with all this crap. No thanks it takes less time for me to do it myself
@@boomertuxx me too. But most people can't. Shop around for the best deal if course
The best way to change engine oil 3 time a year
My cars lucky to get 1 every yrs lol
New oil is cheaper than new parts.
Manufacturers manual tells you how often, but your car i# perfectly fine having an oil change once a year!!
I get my oil changed like once every 2 years. I just top ot off when its low in between. Never had a problem.
Your jumper looks mean
What kind of BS is this ! Really I get disgusted listening to your Nancy and Karen comments . Why , can't you change your own oil . And yes oil needs to be changed every 3 month or 5-6000 miles !
Dont bring your friend's here go home
