    Incredible for a kid that age. Some folks are just born with the gift! And great to see folks use their gift!

      He had the gift of parents who 'pushed' him into music. I wish i had lessons and training at such a young age.

      it's inspiring, it actually makes me feel better that he picked up guitar in only four years, that just means that some my bad habits i've picked up playing are from shit like this and playing video games instead of practicing... guitar wasn't even an option for me until I turned 16 and could go out and get a job and buy one myself so I don't feel bad for sucking :P that's just the way I am lol

    Kids that are humble like this young gentlemen inspire me, he played a lick when he was asked to and even took the consideration for the audience "Maybe thats all they wanted to hear". then was requested to play more and followed up with some more impressive playing. Great job

    Throughout the comments, I've noticed alot of people saying they wish they could play like that. Play to your own style, feel and love what you do. Don't feel envious of people's abilities, but be inspired by them. There's always going to be someone out there who has amazing talent. Don't be put off by this, learn something new every day.
    Scales, theory a new song, but mostly enjoy your instrument, and try to achieve the best that you can be.

    He has aparetnly spent the hours in practice to hone his skill. I have been teaching guitar for 8 years and it amazes me how so many act like a magic spell will make them a great player instead of practicing. I have had some remarkable students. I started with on student on bass and in 6 months she was playing Flea songs from RHCP. She spent a lot of time working on her playing and is much in line with this kid today. It's hard to find students that can understand the work load and how to achieve objectives. Unfortunately the norm is to make the lessons there practice time then they go home to there tv shows and games in a week I have to teach them the same stuff over again. But once in a while I get a student that is ready to do the work. it's all about the time you put into your craft. This kid has a lot of potential.

      I GUARANTEE this kid has put his time in...guitar playing has a lot to do with muscle memory...the only way to achieve this is thru time and hard work. Even the most talented musicians practice thousands of hours. It may come easier to some, but it's no shortcut.

    Amazing how people say he's practice a lot, he has teachers, blah blah... when you're talented, you just simply need someone to guide you, the rest is up to the player. I've been teaching and I've seen kids that no matter how many times you tell them TEMPO they simply can't keep up, now, I taught a 12 year old girl like 8 years ago, for about 2 months, and suddenly she didn't need me anymore (parents), then I found out the girl was so good, the school funded her education in music and now she's playing big! It's amazing to find these people you helped, be so good at what they love and receive a hug and a THANK YOU, YOU INSPIRED ME! So cut the crap now guys! He's talented! PERIOD!

      The Tiger Driver I do not have AIDS just to clear that up lol! ***** Nothing is stopping me besides myself to be honest. I work many hours, but that's not excuse. I learned the fundamentals of piano and guitar at a young age and I feel that has shaped the passion that I have for music. Would you suggest seeing an actual person for lessons or by going the video route?

    • @theepicrrotmg7325
      @theepicrrotmg7325 8 років тому +2

      Matthew Reis actual lessons are obviously a better option, but it will cost you. theres lots of free resources online that can teach you as well, but imo it's better to have an actual person by your side to help you and criticize you.

    • @mattwaldroop7794
      @mattwaldroop7794 8 років тому

      Hey, I don't know if you've started up yet but I do suggest going to someone that can teach you. I know that sometimes many of the small-time local music stores have some pretty good teachers, as they would have a passion for music to open up a store themselves. But a good place to go to online is justinguitar.com. Hes a great teacher and goes in-depth with his lessons and also helps teach songs as well

    As long as he doesn't start actually believing all the adults who are currently slathering him with superlatives... he'll have a future in the music biz. Truth is there are literally millions of "Jadens" coming up who are every bit as talented. Stay humble Mr. Lehman and keep learning/playing - that's my advice.

  • @eareffect

    I agree Norm! Theres so many young guitar players thats just about all the "tricks" on the guitar and playing fast (even though music is not an olympic event). This kid CAN PLAY! This youngster is fantastic! He has an incredible future ahead of him. I began playing and learning at 8 years old. My advice to him is "Follow your heart and soul. Dont listen to the negative jerk offs who will try to knock you down. They say negative BS because they're envious of your amazing talent" thank you Norm for lifting up this young man. You're both an inspiration to those of us who see beyond the veil of others envy.

    I’m in week six on guitar, but I’ve been a musician all my life. Jaden is so relaxed, which is what I’m aiming for. When I first started, I had a death grip on the neck, and Jaden demonstrates a light touch is enough.
    He’s from Florida, but he hasn’t murdered anyone yet, so purely on guitar 🎸 so far so good.

      The8-BitNerd there's a lot you can do on your own.. The best advice I can give you is to not go too heavy on the theory. Most classical music schools won't let you touch an instrument until you know your scales perfectly, can read music, etc etc. To be honest.. that's not really the best way to teach.. Pick up your guitar or bass, learn the basics, learn where your notes are on your fretboard and just jam with music on the internet. Sure, a good teacher will help you to flourish and come out of your shell as a musician, but why not take little steps first? Try and go to jams or play with friends and fellow beginners. Also, when playing with better musicians, don't feel intimidated. See it as a kind of jam masterclass, you can only get better and they generally don't mind that you're a beginner. You really learn and grow a lot when playing with better or more experienced musicians. So get playing!

    I remember having a strat exactly like that one, but that's about the ONLY thing I remember, never heard it played so beautifully, so simply yet smooth...like others have commented, this young man seems to "know" innately how to play, what sounds good, how to move through progressions, and is so humble, not flashy, great finger work, strength and transitions, without effort...hope you grow up to produce the music you can feel and know in your heart, and not be corrupted by the industry into producing just what the masses want to hear. It is time for fresh new previously unheard melodies to come out of this kind of prodigy! Thank you Norman for showing this gem to the world!
