Girl, this tutorial was giving what it needed. i have been struggling to find someone who explains how to properly do the DC through the magic ring. Thank you x10. I am still getting the hang of it, but I will let you know how it goes. SIghhh 😂❤
Thank you for creating, and sharing this tutorial. I really appreciate the viewpoint, and you not working so fast with your hands. You allowed us to clearly view what you're doing which is great
great tutorial...very easy to follow..nicely paced...I like the idea that the hat is fitted with NO elastic added!!!making christmas gifts for everyone!!!! It would be nice to know how much yarn the center hat needs AND how much yarn each ruffle row needs....for purchasing different colors...LOVE IT!!!
Hi Thanks for the positive feedback. I can't give the exact amount of yards that I use for the center but to my estimation you will need less than 100g forr the center. For the brim you will need at least one skein 360yards or 198g I use the Bernat premium acrylic yarn .
Hi, just as seen on the tutorial that's how I did it so each row of the ruffle you will turn your work so yes it will kind of look upside down as you mentioned. Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi, Yes i do recommend taking the size of your head. What you can also do when you get to 12:50 seconds in the video you will see where I show you how wide the hat in after the decrease. If it's too big you can do another round to single crochet but doing your decrease in between, for example four sc then decrease around. Hope this was helpful thanks for watching 🤗
I love this pattern but the size is too big for my head. Is there a way to make it smaller? I’m on the row for the first ruffle. Or can I do another row of decreases?
Hey, you will need three skein of yarn if your doing it in three different colors but if your doing one color you can use two skins. Most dk weight yarn comes in 250-354 yards on each skein, hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching 🙂
I think it's a good tutorial. It's just unclear if you decrease all the way around for row 12 or if you do a single crochet decrease. Also in future please do a stitch count at the end of the row. We don't all wing it when we crochet 😅 But I enjoyed that you showed your hands and did the stitches with us.
Thanks for the feedback, its single crochet decrease all the way around . Just an FYI when you come to the end of your decrease, if you find that your hat is a bit big you can do another row of single crochet decrease in between 😉
Hello ma'am! Please I am a bit confused 😢 where you say "the same stitch" at the beginning after slip stitch do you mean the stitch next to the chain two at the beginning or right inside the stitch that is holding the chain two please 🙏
Hey, sorry that your confused but chain two does not counts as a double crochet it's just their as a filler stitch as mentioned. Your first double crochet will be into the same space as the chain two . I hope this explanation clears up your confusion, thanks for watching 🙂
For the increase rows. Is it 2,1, 1, 2..then 2, 1, 1, 2 again? Or is it the chain 2 starting, 2 single then 2 in the same stitch, then 1, 1 and 2 in the same? (Pls God let this make sense ) Lol
Hi , For the increase rows it starts with two DC in each stitch around, row3 two DC in same stitch then 1 DC in the next stitch repeat to the end, row 4 two DC in same stitch then two DC in separate stitches repeat the same steps around - row5 two DC then three DC in separate stitches repeat. Hope this was helpful.
Hi, am sorry to hear that you were having difficulty but try to keep your tension at a set paste, if you're hat curled a little when making the circumference don't be too alarmed as it can happen. If your hat start to curled alot at the rows of non increase it's suppose to be, as that's the hat forming its shape. Hope this was helpful🤗
Hey, I brand Bernat premium acrylic yarn size four you can use any brand of your choice please see on screen or in descriptions for more info. Thanks for watching 🙂
@Arbein sorry your having issue but I am not sure what happened. If it's the part where I stop increasing you notice that your hat is curling up, that's fine because the hat is just starting to take on its shape. Thanks for watching 🤗

Hi, No you don't of to, you can make the diameter to about 6 to 6.5 wide then stop increasing. You will then do double crochet all around until you get the desired length of the hat. (Pls Measure as you go along) I hope this was helpful thanks for watching. 🤗
It's for a average size head but if your head is smaller make the circumference smaller and measure your head to get exact size to fit you . Hope this tip was helpful, thanks for taking the time out to watch my tutorial 🙂
@@creativehandsbyshayso basically I don’t have too go all the way too the last increase row to make it smaller ? I can do for example 4 dc ..Inc if that size fits better ?
@TheLyssabeautiful Hi, yes you can if that circumstance work for you. You can also measure it on your head as you go along to make sure you have your desired measurement. Thanks for watching 😊

It’s so nice I’m making mine now😍😭 when you started making your ruffles did you turn your work upside down to neat the ruffles?
Hi, just as seen on the tutorial that's how I did it so each row of the ruffle you will turn your work so yes it will kind of look upside down as you mentioned.
Thanks for watching 🥰

I like the color combination!! Really cute and neat work! Thank you!!
Thanks for this tutorial
Do I need to take the size of my head? or if I follow what you are doing it will fit my head size regardless? '

Nice hat I am going try this
Very cute. A row of sc on the end would ne nice too. ❤IJS.
Chaining up 2 at beginning of each row makes the hat seamless?
Yes it does give it a better seam
Do you add elastic? I love this tutorial thank you!!!!!!
@ Kellyshomespa no I didn't that's optional . Thanks for watching 🙂
I love this pattern but the size is too big for my head. Is there a way to make it smaller? I’m on the row for the first ruffle. Or can I do another row of decreases?
Hi you can do another row of decrease to fit your size head.
I tried making mine and it work thank you so much for this video. It really helped🙏🙏❤❤
Hi, can you stop increasing at row five to make it fit a smaller head?
Hey, yes you can as long as that circumference will fit the head of the person your making it for . Thanks for watching 🙂
I just made one using a 6.5 hook but I'm going to try another one with 5.5
Great! I would love to see both if you don't mind . You can tag me on my Ig page @creativehandsbyshay 🙂

Just to be on the safe side use 6 skein as the light weight yarns varies.

Hi,
Sorry I don't understand your question.
Is it a must it must be flat??
Hi,
No you don't of to, you can make the diameter to about 6 to 6.5 wide then stop increasing. You will then do double crochet all around until you get the desired length of the hat. (Pls Measure as you go along)
I hope this was helpful thanks for watching. 🤗

For the 2nd row, should it be 24 double crochets *not including* the 2 chains and double crochet in the same slip stitch?
Hi yes it should be 24 DC starting from our first two DC in the chain two stitch.
Thanks for watching 🤗
Especially where you started making the ruffles ma, I see it as 4 double crochet standing together🥺
Chain two does not counts as a double crochet it's a filler stitch thats the reason I make my first double crochet in that same stitch.
I love this hat. this is my first time making it. i had soo much fun making this hat
Maybe it’s just me but she going a little fast
