The book is "Aux Bonheur Des Dames" it's by Zola and it's a French classic. As a woman born in Paris but who lived all over the world, I totally understand the necessity to prep a beauty visit. And I completely agree with everything in the video.

I love how spotless the stores in Paris are. So organised and clean.
Everyone I saw in the background was actually dressed to be out in public..not in their pajama pants and Crocs...plus not walking around eating and drinking in these beautiful stores...we as Americans have become lazy with ourselves.

Is quite hard to live in Paris, is beautiful, but more than 7 months during the year you don't see the sun so you easily get depressed, prices are really expensive for everything, rent, restaurant etc. Either you have a lot of money, or you will suffer in Paris, people are not friendly at all. People live in horrible conditions that you will never imagine.
Evalle, I believe you! Andreea is showing us the luxurious side of Paris. Even Hawaii has a tremendous homeless population. So many people in this world suffer unspeakable tragedies and such bad living conditions. We should be so very thankful to God our Father for every blessing He gives us!

Fantastic video. Thank you Andrea. It felt like a tour in my heart and life (somehow). Each places shown in this video are a staple in Paris. Although I must say, as a born and raised true Parisian, I go to Le Bon Marché not only for the selection but for the atmosphere, mostly. My grandma used to work there when she was young. It has always been like this place where I feel my heart belongs with. There is something special and unique there. The client service is phenomenal. The building is crazy beautiful. There is a sens of peace when I go there on a Sunday morning, wandering in the alleys, drinking wonderful cafe with a Pâtisserie at La Grande Épicerie. It’s my HQ for sure even though, I can’t afford to buy clothes there, I always still manage to buy one or two luxury crazy pair of shoes every year………and beauty stuff, OF COURSE.
I’ll be there in my fifties and more if I’m lucky. For sure.

@15:15. Finally someone who gets it. I never give up my fragrance secrets either as it is so personal. Nothing is worse than everyone smelling like you after you tell them what you wear! It is such a personal thing. And nothing is better than running into an old acquaintance who says "I smelled a fragrance the other day and it reminded me of you."

Personally, I prefer Le printemps to Galeries Lafayette. A whole floor full of beauty brands and no tourist. It is the same as GL, just next to it but not crowded (I think tourists don’t know).

I recommand you to go for a next ballade in Paris the store DOVER STREET : you will find brands as Fara Homidi, Isamaya, Off White, Westman Atelier... Brands that you can't buy at "Les Grands Magasins" in the city. You also find lot of brands "parfums de niche".

I absolutely love visiting Paris and I’m lucky that I live near by (The Hague to Paris is only a 3 hour train ride). I now can add these locations to visit the next time. And I agree with you that some fragrances are best kept private 😉the Dries van Nolten and Loewe scents are heavenly!

This is a video I was hoping to request from you way back when I was planning a trip to Paris, but was too shy to ask. I went in May and as group tourists, we were led only to the more familiar Gallerie Lafayette and yes the M1 truly was amazing, there was no time for massage but the Cafe had fine cusine! I plan to do another Paris trip next year and will surely seek the other places you have mentioned . I have observed beauty products you have in Europe are of a higher , finer quality than what we have in US. Just enjoyed this video a lot, thank you!

This is EXACTLY the sort of video I've been longing for all week, so glad I found it. You and your camera person did a sensational job. What fun. PS= I'd like to add to your comment about how hard a great purple eyeshadow is to make by saying that thrilling, highly pigmented sky blue shades are even harder. I have two really gorgeous deep matte blues from Kryolan in my kit and one in particular has a gorrrrrrgeous purpley-blue undertone. When you do a quick swatch you gasp...until you blend it with your finger and realise it all turns to chalk dusk and winds up as the lamest pastel blue tint on your lids. The hunt continues so if anybody knows of a richly pigmented array of sky blues in matte form I'd love a heads up. 🙏😃
