My wife and I have volunteered at Rail Town from time to time, and love its rich history. The revamping of the movie prop exhibit in 2013, was my son’s Eagle Scout project. This State Park owes a huge thank you to the many volunteers that keep it running. As I write this, in Dec 2021, the Number 3 is down for some new boiler tubes. I am told however it will be back in service early 2022. Meanwhile the “28” has been doing itself proud. Excellent video, great footage!🚂🚂
@@samstringerphoto360 Yes, I was there as well for opening day 2022 and heard the news. As it will be due for its 15 year boiler inspection in 2 years, they will be holding their resources until then. The good news is that the ownership of the number 34 has been sorted, and now belongs to the park.
I sure did learn some new things about Railtown and when they operate steam and sure was surprised over some of it, I'm actually gonna be making my first visit with my family in the coming weeks and I'm sure hyped about it, I'm pretty sure 3 might not be running since 28 has been in charge of the steam runs for now but if 3 runs the day I visit (which will be on July 3rd, 2021, 11 years since it returned to steam from a rebuild) then I'd be very happy since I know this engine all because of BTTF 3 which I first saw in early fall 2010 and its been a fav movie of mine for many years and I sure can't wait to see 3 irl in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately the 3 won’t be back until the 2023 season from what I’m told . Some stuff happened this winter when testing the engine
