Fair play on your tenacity mate. Me and my mate did this ride late January 2020, and found the first section technical in places but what killed it for us was that run through the woods and onto the Moor. Nothing but Deep pools and not so obvious trails! Good to see you made it back in relatively good shape shows character!
That was my 1st ride back after breaking my ribs after a work accident. Ended up doing my ribs on the other side after this fall. Another 3 weeks off work
Sitting here nursing broken ribs from a fall off the bike in the snow 3 weeks ago., I feel your pain! Dull rides, we've all done them, but still bears sitting about. Makes me appreciate having the Peak District on the doorstep though 👍
jnadin39 love the peaks mate. Your right. A dull ride is better than sat in doing nothing. I was up to my knees in swamp just before I started moaning 😂. Maybe I was a little harsh about the moors. And just should accept it for what it is. Flat!! Hope you feel better soon bud
I Know them rocks well...nearly ended up in the pond (if thats what is it is ) next to them last year. I usually start at Lastingham...nice 3 mile moorland climb to start and finish on that decent. Bout 20 miles round the old mine track. can mix it up a bit tho.
shane fitzsimons was already drugged up as I’d already broken my ribs on the other side 4 weeks earlier. This was my 1st ride back. That crash cost me another week off work 😩 when the pain killers wore off it really hurt
Just found you channel. Some fantastic videos you have. Got to try and get back out on mine after year of not going out riding. Anyway cracking video, I must say though, for a low impact crash that looked pretty painfull that, but the main thing is, that you carried on with the ride and probably in a bit of pain as well. 💪👌🤙 Just subscribe.
No probs. I managed to get out on mine on Monday around my local area, and I must say, it way very enjoyable. I may have to invest in some SPD'S Though, as going through rock gardens on a hardtail is not the best.
i always start in lastingham,,,, loop over the moor ,, the tricky part when you came off is the last part ,,, that rock is tricky peddle strike or over it
It was a killer mate. especially for the slow speed I was travelling at. It makes you think about what could happen at high speed 😳 As for the trails I ride on. I use a combination MTB books/OS maps and google earth.
Think the front wheel just got knocked sideways. Knocked the wind out of me. It’s funny I continued the ride. But that little crash was 3 weeks off work.
@@TrailFinder Bad luck. I’ve had a couple of spills recently, bad judgement on my part, but they still happen pretty quickly. I’ve been on motorbikes all my life, so keen on protective gear, even on the MTB I wear a bit of armour, although I can see why people don’t as its cumbersome and hot, but I just don’t trust fate (or my ability on some days!).
Hello Mate. Didn't fall asleep, watched it all. Didn't come across too bad on the vid Mate. Nasty tumble in the first couple of mins, hope the ribs are okay?!
Mark Collingwood you literally saw the very best bits in the video. I must be getting good at this editing lark to make such a boring flat ride look interesting 😂😂. In agony mate. I’m just on the mend with broken ribs on my left side. Then crash on this ride hurting my right side ones. Been off work again this week recovering
@@TrailFinder how long did you have off workmtake to recover? I had the weekend and two more days. Regretted it a bit really. It'll be 3 weeks this Saturday and still painful, making progress but at least a couple of weeks away from a ride I reckon. 😩
I had 4 weeks off. it was 2 weeks before I could even drive. and after the crash on this ride and hurting the other side. ive had this week off 2. its a good job im insured!!!
Do you know something mate. I’m a really quiet person. And feel pretty shy speaking on camera. So for you to say that about my commentary has absolutely made my day 👊👊 thanks. Glad your enjoying the videos.
@@TrailFinder no prob. Love sitting watching this stuff on the telly, and it's the down to earth ones which get my vote. The commentary gives it more depth. I hate hearing my voice so couldn't do these kind of videos!

1st section is great. And the road descent at the end. The rest. Rubbish. The bit through the woods like you said. Was the worst
Nasty fall, glad you’re were okay. Another great vid 👍

@@TrailFinder Cheers, was feeling better until I just sneezed 😭. The scene of the crime....

Have the peeks on your doorsteps? I'm 58 miles away and the biggest hill near me is like 20ft high 🤣🤣🤣

You took a bad spill there on top of the ribs.
Kudos you kept going

Lovely scenery, but would be a good idea to ride in two's out there.

Thanks Alan. I appreciate the kind words. And get your self back out riding asap. Your missing out on so much fun

I’ve been on them around a year and love them. The thought of been attached to the bike used to scare me. But now been unattached to the bike does.
Ouch! Glad you were ok! 👍 Still lovin the vids though.

I did my duke of edinbrugh on the moors. It was... memorable.
Ive rode that section a good few times and that rock garden is always a tricky one.
Aaron Grimmer it was abit of a shock. I wasn’t expecting to get caught out at such slow speed 🤕
@@TrailFinder I pretty much find thats when i get caught out the most tbf. Think im more focused when its all flowing nice and steady.
Nice vid mate. Shame about the tumble
Lakedistrictrider thanks mate. Been in the wars the last month. And that crash didn’t do my recovery any good 😩
Where do you find your trails at ? And that fall Christ it happened all so slowly lol hope all is well. Once had cracked ribs myself horrible pain !

hazbroTV edge 820

it knocked the wind right out of me mate. my ribs landed on that big rock
Ribs are tender!
