- New Silent Hill games have released and it is only fitting to update the marathon to include these. This features all the mainline games adding in The Short Message at the end of it. As well I decided to be a bit cheeky and added in Silent Hill Ascension during the Downpour Cutscenes for a bit.
Silent Hill 3 had some crashing issues and this is why the timer is red randomly around that time, I included the non crashing run since youtube vods tend to have issues over 12 hours.

My predictions for one of the new RE games is an RE1 remake but using the FPS style of the newer games. Would be dope as hell. Though my heart yerns for a Code Veronica remake.
I tried Short message, and being a long time silent Hill fan...I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped..just wasn't what I was expecting. I played it multiple times too and I couldn't get with it. Excited for the silent hill 2 remake still.
To your credit I don’t think it’s a game where multiple plays will hook you in more than the single one. On the upside all 4 of the new games have vastly different styles

Homecoming to me, is good, and I’ve played some of the other Silent Hill games. I’ve played The Room. Sadly I haven’t played SH2, Origins, and the others. Would be awesome if Konami put them all together in a bundle.

You’re also missing Orphan, Play novel, and Book of memories. None of these are considered main titles and I have ran all but orphan in the past

For the part about SH1 having a childhood feeling.... all feeling i remember about this game is my asshole being so tense it could crate diamonds if supplied with coal (playing this game alone at night when i was like 11 or some shit.). Like not scared but TENSE like something will happen and soon.
Never played origins on PS2
Played on PSP, it's ok not a favorite by any means
2 and 4 will always be my favorites
1 is really good too, I like 3 as well but not as much as 1 2 and 4

Shattered Memories on the Wii felt like a chore
i have to admit: i did not vibe with a short message at first whatsoever. i watched a playthrough without commentary and i was dumbfounded by it. in that watchthrough though, i forgot what the core of silent hill is. it is purgatory and it is all about someone's mental state. it just took me listening to ecdycis talk about it and thinking about how it expands on what the silent hill phenomenon is that's made me appreciate it. also i identify with CB a lot. going back and trying that no commentary runthrough again made me cry. do i find the game scary? no. nothing happening on that front whatsoever. but its cool, its a cool experience. i'd rather not have more walking sim like horror games in the future but i'm also sure that a fully fleshed out full length game would have more than that.

silent hill has been outside of the town since 3. Thats not a new concept. Also Downpour and Homecoming get to much shit.
3, 4, Homecoming, Downpour, Ascension and I think Book of Memes all take place outside the town
All of those games except for Ascension, BOM and 4 go into the town at some point
I think it would be funny if Short Message had a UFO ending that no one's found yet
