Personally for me, I don't believe King is related to the Titan, I think King's Father most likely battled against Belos's true form that we got a brief glimpse of in the trailer, since the monster on the Tapestry looks somewhat similar to The Shadow we see of Monster Belos in the Trailer. So, I think Belos might have eliminated King's species (or the small amount of them that was left) since they most likely posed a threat to his rule.
I agree that Kings is not related to a titan or at least his dad wasn’t a/the titan. King remembers his farther calling out to him while he was in the egg. He was born in the castle which is part of the Boiling Isles. Even is King was around for a couple years before Eda found him he would still be maybe 10y old. Who knows how long ago the titan fell.
i have a theory that kings dad was actually the king of monsters, but belos killed him so long before taking over the isles that not even the unauthorized history book has info on his dad. Also what do you mean by monster belos? at the end of the trailer where we saw his long grey hair?
My theory is the heart in Emperor Belos castle is Kings father's heart, since the size can't be the titan the Ilse's heart. Plus the fleshy style of the guards matches Belos use at the end of season 1. The similarities between the magic here and Belos feels too similar for coincidence.
I'm so happy that we are learning more not only about the main cast of characters but the isles themselves. I know it wasn't on of the more interesting things that we learned but just the fact that the island appeared out of the mist and Lilith, the head historian of the Emperor's coven, didn't even know about makes me think that it might have something to do with the Titian itself. What if there is a titan or a titan spirit that is behind some of the previous events.
If King is the spawn of the Titan, he may be the one who overthrows the Emperor, if he comes into his birthright. Also, I think the flying bath tub is a reference to the Baba Yaga, the witch of Russian folklore who traveled in a flying bowl or mortar.
@@kmmk5022 She sits in the mortar and uses the pestle for steering and propulsion. My guess is, it's kind of like rowing a boat, and magic is weird enough that you can apply boat logic to flying
"Eda's probably on her third cup of apple blood by now and last time it was real hard getting her off the roof." Ah yes, idk if I wanna call this Wine Mom Eda or just plain Eda
King's little breakdown was so well acted. I also really love seeing Lilith and Hooty's friendship. I like that he's still a source of jokes but he's also kind of an important character now.
Anyone else notice the guard of King's birth home is made from flesh and sorta looks like that time we saw Belos control the Titan's flesh. If King is related to the Titan then maybe his species can control the Titan's remaining flesh and maybe even the whole Island
I did think about this but I didn't get so far. That's a really interesting theory because if he'll be able to bend the material as well as commanding these flesh and bones guards he will actually have a chance to rule and help defete Belos

I know this is a minor thing, but 2 things that I love from this episode was the drum score in the background in a few scenes and at the end when Luz yawned her eyes watered a bit which happens to me a lot and pretty accurate, both those things I just think are really neat.............also I am slowly loving Lilith more and more
Indeed - all the music related to the creature protecting King appears to be African in nature. I thought that was a really interesting and excellent choice by the Dana.
the hole in the bat queen's foot kinda looks like the symbol lilith found, just a whole version. since the bat queen was a palisman for a giant, and the symbol was somewhere on the supposed titan's island, maybe this does really mean something.
Man that was an amazing episode. I really love the way that Dana has handled the sensitive topic of adoption and with how people want to figure out who they are and where they come from and being confused with one’s identity, along with being curious on their family history. I can't see where King’s story arc goes from there. I hope we get to see King’s parents and maybe some other possible relatives and ancestors of King. Also lol, that scene when Hooty was getting out of the door and Luz gagging was hilarious. Like I literally thought she was gonna spew on screen and I liked how King was all like ‘Why? Just why?!’ and Lilith being all horrified. That’s gonna be one of the fandoms memes. Also I just really love the friendship and dynamic between Lilith and Hooty. I also love how the gang is being a bit more inclusive of Hooty and how Hooty isn’t so desperate for friendship with being under Lilith’s influence and how Hooty is playing a bit of a bigger role in the gang's missions. I have a theory about King, maybe his father is either the titan or the King of demons. King’s father is either dead or alive. Hmmm, maybe Belos has something to do with King. It’s possible that there are more than one titan. Maybe all the titan’s died and all the offsprings are the only existing titans left and King could be one of those titans. Do you think titans and demons are related? I also have a theory that the golden guard could be Eda's long lost son and thats why Eda would take in every child she sees and be like a mother to them,
@@avivrefaeli7924 yea where, and doesn’t that mean she made the house too? Because well, Hooty is literally apart of the house (organs in the house) so um

Maybe they look for a book talking about demons and King durning episode 5 “through the looking glass ruins” and that’s why luz and amity travel to the forbidden stacks part of the library
The forbidden stacks certainly sounds like a place somewhere you would assign books that had uncensored maps, pre belos era history books and suchlike... Hasn't belos only been around for 50 years though? It seems like people would be alive that remember the old history, although knowledge of wild magic was almost totally gone. Maybe belos just did a really good job.
18:54 maybe they used to have multiple languages like we do on earth, but when belos came to power he forced everyone to learn one language as a way to unite people.
Those happen to be the first names of two famous French movie directors, Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. Maybe that's totally coincidental or maybe someone on the show's writing staff is fan of French New Wave cinema.
If Rebecca didn’t already say this, here’s my personal theory: King is the Titan’s son. The reason the castle is so small compared to the Titan is because it was built specifically for King. When the Titan fell, he called out to his son, knowing he would never get to see his birth. My prediction is that King will find out he’s the Titan’s son, Luz and the gang will overthrow Belos, and King will rule the Boiling Isles.
@@mazin9814 I agree. The appearance of the (presumably?) Titan looks very similar to king's overall design. Maybe that star in the mural was the “Wailing Star” from the first library episode. Also the symbol that King put on his collar kinda reminds me of the interlock shape on the Bat Queen’s foot. And the creature guarding King had weird fleshy bits that was reminiscent of Emperor Belos’ magic. Thoughts?
Right now angry Facebook Karens hate this show because they don't want their kids doing gay magic. Meanwhile I have a popcorn stash ready for the irl Witches Duels
Two things. 1: I'm amazed you didn't connect the eyes in the creature with Belos's visible eye after his mask is cracked. They're the exact same eye. 2: They had Polaroids in Understanding Willow, even having them out on fishing line, though they were made from memories. It doesn't surprise me since they have Penstagram of all things, and we've seen plenty of human tech crossing over. They even have magical crystal balls that function like TVs, so.
I'm hoping he meets the palismsn now that he has its lock symbol on his tag. Ok, just thinking aloud...what if kings dad WAS the palisman for a huuuge staff? We know they can reproduce.
This was honestly a really good episode. I always thought there was something to King's story, even if it wasn't quite what he said it was. I wasn't expecting it to have come from early memories with Eda though. And even if the king of demons thing isn't true, there's still something to his past and that'll be really interesting to see. And seeing his reaction to the truth hit me emotionally, not gonna lie. Aside from that, Lilith and Hooty's friendship is amazingly adorable and I love it. I would never have expected her of all characters to genuinely get along with him, but it's great.
I loved this episode! It was sad, happy, answered a lot of questions, and left us with more questions. It was one of my favorite episodes of this season so far.
I like how Dana used “king of my heart” on her Twitter with the king plush.. if you missed it luz said he’s still the king of her heart which is sweet💜
My heart broke for King in this one and his character is officially the one I am rooting for the most! Though I'm rooting for all of our main residents of the Owl House!
This was a great episode but also and emotional one. I felt bad for King in this episode but I’m glad that we got to see how King and Eda met and know where King came from. I hope we get to know more about King in future episodes.
Loved your reaction to Lilith and Hooty's developing dynamic, as well as your theorizing during the reaction! It really brought on some interesting plot segments I never thought of before! 😁
Honestly thought it was just some reference to Chloe Bourgeois' misnaming of her family's butler. What is with King and naming his "subjects" French names though?
I wish when lilith was calling out king's fantasy at the beginning she would then turn it in luz once luz started defending king with a "how much better off you are now that you have people keeping you in reality"
My theory is King's father was some sort of guardian/protector demon lord whose job was to protect the body of the titan or something like that. From what I could tell from the mural his father was as big as the trees. Or at last the size of the entrance door. Also he looks to be fighting something a bit bigger than him. Some sort of monster. What if it's Belos' true form! In the trailer you see his shadow transforming into something beastly.
That was quite an emotional episode for King. I give major kudos to Alex Hirsch for that vocal performance. It was also nice that we got some backstory for the lovable demon, which I feel was needed at this point in the show. Meanwhile, seeing Lilith and Hooty's friendship again was really fun. It's pretty much become something I never knew I needed until now. It's just so funny and adorable.
26:22 - They bring out memories in a polaroid form, so why not cameras? Seems fitting :) I wonder if there's any "cross-contamination" between the Boiling Isles and Earth in terms of technological innovations. Like, they seem clueless about some things, but for example battery symbols are the same in both worlds, so one may have copied the other.
In the murals, it seemed to depict a battle between a demon and some sort of snake thing, while the idea of the actual demon king being kings father is enticing, there’s not much evidence for it, if there was a king demons I’d say there’s a chance that it might be the titan with a small chance of king being the titan’s son, that or the demon king slayed the titan, again all of this is just speculation so this is subject to change, another thing I want to talk about is how old king is, as far we know, kings age might be different from others or maybe time works differently in the boiling isles, aside from that, we don’t know how witches live, and this maybe a form of in witch years, we really don’t which is why we can’t think one way or the other
I found it kind of interesting that it turned out King was only eight years old. It kind of put's his immaturity in a new light, because he isn't just acting like a little kid, it turns out he is one. His reaction to discover the true where also pretty interesting. Sort of made me think about when kids learn Santa isn't real only it is much more dramatic, because these where things he based his identity on. Though I am now even more curious about King's relation to the Titan. I think there might be a good argument to be made that King's father, fought with the Titian that is now the boiling Isle's, especially given Lilith comment saying it was in a language predates all other known languages, suggesting it was built a while ago. Also the island actually looks like its made out of straight rock, than a peace of bone, meaning it could have been around sense before the Titans where destroyed, and Lilith did mention weird materials, like maybe kind you would not find on a typical bone Island. If this is true it might mean Belos isn't completely full of it when he says he speak for Titan. He can seem to be able to manipulate its flesh, and its hart reacts to his emotions. Maybe the boiling Isle's Titan is evil. And Belos is their an extension of it or doing its will. Still what would really be interesting is seeing how this plays into Belos tech base magic. I still wondering if he come form a si-fi verses fantasy setting and for what ever reason decided to start meddling in the boiling Isle's affairs. I suppose this does not change the fact that he is working for the Titian, maybe he was recruited by it, but it open's up a lot of questions.
I honestly think that King's father might've been a descendant of Titan that turned on his creator and slew it. However Belos may have killed him in the past, and that heart in his throne room (which is too small to be that of an island-sized creature) belonged to that of King's father.
Eda aged rapidly, damn, 8 years and her hair went full gray. Her arms/legs/head became detachable sometime in those 8 years too, at least I think that's the case. And King has a father that must also look somewhat like King hence the paintings, but he may be out there, 8 years really isn't that much. He may have been captured by Belos, who knows...
My theory about king is quite dumb but here it is: king could be extremely old but when his horn chipped he started to age but now the he has his horn back he won’t age. This is a dumb theory but I think it may be true.
I'm thinking that Luz complimenting King before in season 1 saying "You're a prince!" and then him correcting her to "King." might've been foreshadowing.
I do kind of hope that King is a Titan related to the Boiling Isles Titan somehow, since it would give so much significance to King that a lot of people would have overlooked before. The familial relations in The Owl House, particularly characters conflicting with or fearing their family members, are one of its major themes and strongest aspects, so that would keep that theme going. The creature King’s father looks to be slaying could’ve been anything, but I feel like it isn’t the Titan, and may have a connection to Emperor Belos.
Something I find interesting. Yes Lillith was the head historian of the Emperor’s Coven. The most important thing is not that she’s head historian, it’s the Emperor’s Coven. Lilith knows all about the history of the Boiling Isles that Belos wants people to know
This episode was the one I was most excited about back when the first couple episode titles where released & I loved it even more than I thought I would
This is just me spitballing here but the bone structure of the titan doesn’t match the carvings on the wall, so I think the book may be about belos. (Not the actual sone but a metaphorical son) Though Kings father may have been the one to slay the titan. This could also prove that mural with the giant monster. The last thing is the tower might have been attacked when king was still in the egg, happening when he could do nothing and went back to sleep.

Nice, what if crazy idea just tottaly wacko idea what if Belos is kings dad or something. Also are you the guy who comments under monk?
@@Pupal_Dugal Yes I am!

Maybe all the titan’s died and all the offsprings are the only existing titans left and King could be one of those titans. you know, considering that the Heart in Belos' castle is a bit too small to belong to the Titan, the heart may be King's Father's if he was more of a Giant sized demon rather than Titan

I'm gonna say it. King IS the King of Demons. Or at least the future King of Demons.
18:54 maybe they used to have multiple languages like we do on earth, but when belos came to power he forced everyone to learn one language as a way to unite people.
The best part of this episode is Baby King, hands down.
Yup that will be my new screen savor
What is King's obsession with french names? Francois, Jean-Luc? Start of a pattern maybe
Those happen to be the first names of two famous French movie directors, Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. Maybe that's totally coincidental or maybe someone on the show's writing staff is fan of French New Wave cinema.
If Rebecca didn’t already say this, here’s my personal theory:
King is the Titan’s son.
Actual amazing theory. I could 100% see this happening.
Hasn't the Titan's skeleton been there for a VERY long time? How could he have King over eight years ago?

Maybe that star in the mural was the “Wailing Star” from the first library episode. Also the symbol that King put on his collar kinda reminds me of the interlock shape on the Bat Queen’s foot.
I'm going to call it right here - that's not an island, that's a staff. The symbol King sees is the lock for a pailisman (sp?) to fit.
It really looks it doesn't it?
I'm hoping he meets the palismsn now that he has its lock symbol on his tag.
Ok, just thinking aloud...what if kings dad WAS the palisman for a huuuge staff? We know they can reproduce.
i cried when King had his mental breakdown
It's nice to see Lilith, who's older than Luz, respect her input, teachings, and discoveries. Rather than it being a ~whole thing 'cuz she's younger.
That thing with Eda and the protector of the castle where she said “it’s been a while. Miss me?” Would have been great for the trailer
Lilith probably got the Polaroid from Eda's collection of human things
Loved your reaction to Lilith and Hooty's developing dynamic, as well as your theorizing during the reaction! It really brought on some interesting plot segments I never thought of before! 😁
I think King in this episode was Alex’s best vocal performance in anything so far, I was unprepared to see him being so emotional.
I guess Luz is a star-trek fan going by her naming the guardian Jean-Luc.

@@michaelandreipalon359 A historical fascination that started when Eda brought home a historic book from her Earth trash.
did we see Luz name it? I thought king would be the one to name it.

I wish when lilith was calling out king's fantasy at the beginning she would then turn it in luz once luz started defending king with a "how much better off you are now that you have people keeping you in reality"
I don't think lilith was there when luz was still fantasising and lilith is respectful to her teachers
I think King is an actual Prince- like a descendant of a Titian. And also that he could actually be royalty :0
I see the dolls in the backroad!!! SO CUTE 😍
I also like how King said to not worry about the statues and that "it won't hurt them" because it never hurt him when he was inside the tower alone!
BABY KING IS SO KAWAIIIII
it's also funny that King says "I'm sure yours would be sweet, Luz" it's so cute
Seems fitting :)
I wonder if there's any "cross-contamination" between the Boiling Isles and Earth in terms of technological innovations. Like, they seem clueless about some things, but for example battery symbols are the same in both worlds, so one may have copied the other.
In the murals, it seemed to depict a battle between a demon and some sort of snake thing, while the idea of the actual demon king being kings father is enticing, there’s not much evidence for it, if there was a king demons I’d say there’s a chance that it might be the titan with a small chance of king being the titan’s son, that or the demon king slayed the titan, again all of this is just speculation so this is subject to change, another thing I want to talk about is how old king is, as far we know, kings age might be different from others or maybe time works differently in the boiling isles, aside from that, we don’t know how witches live, and this maybe a form of in witch years, we really don’t which is why we can’t think one way or the other
I just wanna say that I LOVE Eda’s flying bathtub 😂🤣
Owl house season 1 : aww king is so cute. Owl house season 2: the fandom takes one look at baby king ... OMG OMG OMG AWWWWWWW OMG OMG
I suppose this does not change the fact that he is working for the Titian, maybe he was recruited by it, but it open's up a lot of questions.
the mystery shack needs to make a baby king theyd get so many sales 😭
This my favorite episode. It was perfect
3:05 Everyone's facial expressions is priceless.
"Special delivery..PAIN" god I love hooty
I honestly think that King's father might've been a descendant of Titan that turned on his creator and slew it. However Belos may have killed him in the past, and that heart in his throne room (which is too small to be that of an island-sized creature) belonged to that of King's father.
Eda aged rapidly, damn, 8 years and her hair went full gray. Her arms/legs/head became detachable sometime in those 8 years too, at least I think that's the case.
And King has a father that must also look somewhat like King hence the paintings, but he may be out there, 8 years really isn't that much. He may have been captured by Belos, who knows...
Baby King is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen
My theory about king is quite dumb but here it is: king could be extremely old but when his horn chipped he started to age but now the he has his horn back he won’t age. This is a dumb theory but I think it may be true.
what if the ruins have a stasis on them and he didnt age within them
Good point I think either could be correct because he never really left the ruins Before Eda brought king out of the ruins.
Lilith: I know history
Rebecca: and up to my favorite characters you go!
I'm thinking that Luz complimenting King before in season 1 saying "You're a prince!" and then him correcting her to "King." might've been foreshadowing.
side note: love how the guardian was rebuilding king's statues in his absance
