I drove one of these myself in the late eighties and I have to admit that I really did enjoy it, a really good experience one of which I will remember to the day I depart this earth.

Remember these in the 1970"s , Quiet cab, also, if the P.T.O lever is switched to the other direction, it went into LAND DRIVE, we had lime speaders that had a transfer box- to propshaft on the axle of spreader, so we had 4x4 in the field,
Hi. Any tips on oil servicing? Where are the oil filler points/dipsticks for the gearbox and back end. What grades of oil do you use? Many thanks. P.S. Yours is a lot nicer than mine!
the gear box and back end share the same oil. the dipstick is under the cab on the off side of the tractor mounted into the gear box housing. the filler is in the cab on the floor near the gear sticks. it uses the same oil as for the engine so a 10w 40 is fine

The Glum Rant Not sure on that one. Prob ok for the engine but the back end and gear box I wouldn’t risk. Maybe perfectly ok but I can’t be sure. Maybe ring your MF dealer just to be sure

30 years since i used to drive 2wd 590 . thee tractor i drove is still going strong ,
The MF 590 is just beautyfull.
