I have longed for an Oliso iron to do pressing and being 87 years old, have difficulty with the regular iron and stand-up type. Love your youtube channel and you are so cheery and easy teaching method is something I enjoy to watch.
Put the tree in a mason jar and just fill it with rocks or marbles or you can use a spray foam and it will hold it and you will have a smaller base. :) hope this idea helps
I completed my first machine appliqué project this week. The pattern recommended the thicker Heat and Bond and full coverage on the appliqué pieces. I love your method! The quilt blocks will be much, much softer! Thanks for sharing all of your tips Pat - they make a world of difference in my quilting!
You could use a block of wood and have someone drill a hole in it the size of the rod on your mushroom tree. That way the base could be as big or little as you want. Paint it white.
Hi Pat, Have the hubby put the tree in a hole drilled into a smaller square block of wood. You could make small a quilted tree skirt with mushrooms to cover it! Just an idea for you. So excited for the breakfast quilt!
Oh my, my daughter was watching your video with me and now I'm making the Kawaii quilt top. She even yelled at Kendall because he wasn't sure about the face (LOL)
I love your tree. I have seen people who put the pole in a weighted decorative flower pot for the base. If you use fabric or stones in the pot, you can put some mushrooms there too. Maybe a fairy house? Can’t wait to see it finished! 💕🧵🌸
I LOVE your haircut! I noticed it right away today. Due to life getting in the way, I had not been watching your video daily and decided this morning to get back on daily watching! Again, love your hair!❤
Pat Sloan, the breakfast club blocks are going to be such fun! Look forward to doing this quilt along as soon as I land in a semi-permanent place to live. Learning so much about home fires & how the damage from the smoke devastates your belongings. Enjoyed my time in the Sloan Zone & look forward to seeing you online soon😊
When you showed your gingham next to the sashing set - my brain immediately went to instead of doing a single fabric sashing - maybe mimic a gingham look with like a pink and red then pull the gingham in on the binding
I've already got a spot in mind for my Breakfast Club quilt to hang in my kitchen. I adore doing applique. Glad this little project is going live now. Thanks Pat for all you do. Ten years? Who's counting!
I learned from you that I didn’t have to fuse the entire piece. You said in the video that you liked to save as much fusible as possible for future projects. So, that you. That made my life of quilting much easier.
I watched your older UA-cam videos on applique to put an initial on an oven mitt I made as a Christmas mitt this year. It was great!!! Fun to watch you do it again.
Hi Pat, just want to say what a great video today, could feel the energy coming through loud and clear, glad you're back to true form. Way to go and congrats on 10 years on the air as they say. Vangie, Ontario, Canada
Your nails look SO PRETTY today! Thanks for the tip on appliqué around the edge. I’ve shied away from appliqué because I haven’t liked the “stiffness” of the appliquéd parts of the quilt. I’m going to try this!!
Thank you for another applique tutorial. I was doing turned edge applique for a quilt for my son and I enjoy it but it's just taking too long (he's not going to like trucks anymore but the time I'm done 😂). I'm going to try your technique! Hopefully I can make quicker progress
Ha Ha Ha, I just saw some mushroom lights today and even had them in my cart but something told me to hold off on getting them for you! Got to listen to instinct! So glad to get the lessons on fusible machine applique! Maybe I will be able to truly start & finish my Chicken Salad quilt top in 2024! THANKS!
What an excellent show. I really need to learn machine appliqué as I have a pieced top from Laundry baskets Quilts that needs appliqué, The size of this project is perfect for a kitchen wall hanging I just need to check my fabrics and maybe order a bundle of fruit loops after all. Thank you for doing this for us and now My Pat appliqué book will come out of the bookshelf and be used,
Hi Pat! That egg yolk fabric is just so cute! What timing-just a couple of days ago, my "Jenny" Oliso (from Missouri Star) stopped steaming. The button to press is not making it release steam 😥😥 It still gets hot, just no steam. I think I've asked you before, but I thought they had to be left laying down-horizontal. I see yours sitting up-vertical frequently. Just wondering.
you can leave it down, but i set it up when not in use as that heat is going to eventually scorch your iron board cover if you have it on and not using it .. it is VERY hot
use the direct link i gave you in the description box, in the pinned comments and in the email i sent you. go to www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2024/01/breakfast-club-kickoff.html
I so want to make the Breakfast Club quilt but I can’t find the pattern for the Sunny Side Up block. Can anyone help me? I’ve printed the quilt assembly instructions but I can’t find block 1. Thank for any help.
I tried to find the comment section at the end on your website and could not get in. However, I’m hoping my comment on UA-cam will be okay to enter for the giveaway. Please enter my name for the mini Oliso iron. I like the new features and colors of these irons. Would like to compare Oliso to my Rowenta I’ve had for years.

Quote of the day: “You are not cooking a roast!” I am still chuckling over that one!

Blue bird quilt is so cute. And I love blue!

The egg block is so cute. It should be a fun BOM.
Great block for Breakfast Club, Pat! I’ll definitely be watching Kendall’s video, I learned so much from him during Autumn Wonders, he’s FABULOUS! ❤️
Good Morning Pat and everyone ❤
That egg is so cute! I like a dark background. How about navy or dark grey for The Breakfast Club?
I love your tree. I have seen people who put the pole in a weighted decorative flower pot for the base. If you use fabric or stones in the pot, you can put some mushrooms there too. Maybe a fairy house? Can’t wait to see it finished! 💕🧵🌸
I have your book and it is wonderful. I refer to it often.
I LOVE your haircut! I noticed it right away today.
Due to life getting in the way, I had not been watching your video daily and decided this morning to get back on daily watching!
Again, love your hair!❤
I love the zippy bag and mug.
Your egg white is shaped like a chubby star! How adorable!!
I love Adrienne!!,I just need to make it a habit!

I’ve bought the material for the bird quilt, I. Love it
I learned from you that I didn’t have to fuse the entire piece. You said in the video that you liked to save as much fusible as possible for future projects. So, that you. That made my life of quilting much easier.
My family loves a big breakfast, they all took that after their dad..not me, so I’m thinking this is perfect for each of them.
I watched your older UA-cam videos on applique to put an initial on an oven mitt I made as a Christmas mitt this year. It was great!!! Fun to watch you do it again.
I am so excited for the breakfast club!!!
Me too

Love your tutorials, I think I learn something from each one, thanks Pat.
That is a great method for fusible appliqués. I’ve been using it since I first saw you do it a few years ago.
Your nails look SO PRETTY today! Thanks for the tip on appliqué around the edge. I’ve shied away from appliqué because I haven’t liked the “stiffness” of the appliquéd parts of the quilt. I’m going to try this!!
Awesome way to do fusing and I’ll have to check out the bird quilt, love it as well as your scarf. Thanks Pat for sharing. 👍❤️😊
Wow what a fantastic give away Pat.
Fun, fun, fun!

I was thinking the red and white gingham would be so cute as the middle square of each of the corner stone churn dash blocks.
Ha Ha Ha, I just saw some mushroom lights today and even had them in my cart but something told me to hold off on getting them for you! Got to listen to instinct! Heat N Bond is my favorite, but I’m going to try your method of no full coverage.

The blue block I’m asking about is the one at the beginning of the video before you get started on the egg block
❤❤❤
I have a question, with raw edge appliqué do the edges fray when washed?
i will answer that on video!
How much fabric will I need to gather for the whole little quilt please ?
