Great job on the vin decode. It still cracks me up to this day that they list “L” for Los Angles when the plant was in Van Nuys. Though still part of the City of Los Angeles, it’s still Van Nuys which is a planet of a city.
I used to live five minutes from the plant and got to see some cool stuff come out of there. I have a few friends who worked there and love hearing their stories especially the one about how GM and Fisher would almost end up in fist fights over who’s color code was correct. Fisher would build the carriage and paint it, then send it down the line to be mated with GM’s front clip and in some instances there was a slight variation in color, which I just assumed was the paint process itself. Love the stories these cars tell. Thanks for sharing yours.

@@phoenixblack1220 oh that’s really cool! I didn’t know that, so thank you for sharing. It’s going to take time to finish building her, I know it will be worth it ❤️. I appreciate the encouragement!

@@christinasgarage one step at a time and one thing at a time. Try not to look at the project at once, it can get very overwhelming. The best advice I can offer is to break things down into smaller tasks so that you can accumulate many wins and feel a sense of accomplishment after each thing.
Also, don’t get weekender syndrome where you feel like you have to rush through a job just to get it done and half ass it and say to yourself, ahh, I’ll go back and do it right later! Take your time and do it right the first time and don’t be discouraged if you can’t finish something in your specified time. Just remember, it’s a hobby so have fun building her.
Another thing I do and recommend is to buy a scale model kit and build it up in and try different things to practice before you pay big money on the real thing. Most of all, just have fun with it.

@@phoenixblack1220thank you for the advice. I never thought to buy a kit car. Do you have recommendations on where I should look for one?

Great job on your decoding work! One other source of information for your Camaro is to get a "shipping data report" from NCRS. The cost is 60 bucks, but you can browse through examples of other shipping data reports posted online and see if you think they are worth the expense.

I forgot to add it into the video, but I did pay for something. I’ll have to look at the sheet to see if it was NCRS. If that’s not what I have, I’ll look into it. Thank you so much ❤️
