    Personally, it scares me when the symptoms seem so “minimal” (I know there’s a better way to word this) that I would probably die if I presented them because my family wouldn’t bring me to the hospital. My family has an extensive history of downplaying serious symptoms. I’m so glad that all four of them were saved!

      Same here, I've had seizures and symptoms like all of these yet they never once tool me to hospital or called an ambulance, despite it obviously being very weird for someone to collapse and not be able to move or speak or only the tiniest bits sometimes, and with great effort and minutes gaps, thankfully I've learnt to deal with it - as in literally made a deal with it, because it's all spiritual I'm afraid, half of you is dead things and the other half carry everything from all your ancestors experiences and skills like your muscles remember things when you train physically. Everything is "spiritual" really cuz it's all justatoms.

      Definitely a caring doctor but…The disgusting thieving drug makers charge nearly $60,000 for a course of this medication when in reality, it can be produced for less than $40 for an entire regiment and the scariest part is this is not even in the top 20% of their most expensive medication‘s. They’ve charged as high as $2 million for certain medication‘s to treat very rare childhood illnesses and prevent cheaper competition with patents, and what not… it’s a travesty how these greedy corporations extort families by putting a price on their loved ones lives!! they should be in jail not allowed to profit billions of dollars but that’s what these companies do whether they hold peoples lives for ransom or poison millions of Americans and ruin America for generations, like the Sackler‘s have done with the opiate crisis, and still get to walk out of court free men with billions of dollars in their pockets… but a black or brown person sells five dollars worth of crack cocaine and goes to prison for 15 years…. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM AND OUR GOVERNMENT!!!

      @Norhurst the person that creates a drug that can save a life then charges 20k only cares about the money too. But I'm sure they invested alot of money in research. Just like a doctor does going to school so he's gotta charge enough to cover that debt. It's a vicious cycle and it's what makes it so people value money and their own life over otber lives. Then you even get people who would rather die than be put in debt and end up suffering because of it. I know you agreed with me but I wanted to vent about it more.

    • @justintime2026
      @justintime2026 3 роки тому +7

      @LHM there's been less than 200 cases in the U.S. in the past 50 years. There's 6,000 hospitals in the U.S. There's absolutely no guarantee they will ever use the drug, and even if they did it's very likely that better and/or cheaper drugs will come out by then. That money would be better spent on other forms of medicine that are way more common.

      Danny Helser You do know they aren't fish and aren't common like fish? They can be found in ANY warm freshwater, so basically you're saying getting in warm freshwater will have a high chance of catching them. Yet, I'm pretty sure everyone has been in warm freshwater many many times. *EDIT* - I'm assuming you're young based off your profile picture and grammar, so hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

    • @TheKingOfTrolling
      @TheKingOfTrolling 7 років тому +81

      Danny Helser "unless you swim in a body of water where these are" They can be in *ANY* warm freshwater, there's not just one "warm freshwater" place you go to catch them. Think of it like this, let's say they were Pokémon that lived in warm freshwater and out of 320+ million people only a few amount of people caught it per year (based off the US), that's basically what this is, it's a very very very rare Pokémon. *EDIT* - There's around a .0000009375% chance for you to "catch it" each year in the US; that's not a "very high chance". To put that into perspective, your chance of dying from a lightning strike per year is around a .000013125% chance

      It doesn't sound the drug has many uses. Think of it like anti venom- there are few uses for it and outside of states where it's needed semi-routinely, there is a near zero percent chance that it would ever get used.
      Since this brain eating amoeba is so insanely rare, I'm not shocked at all that the drug isn't common stock. But the good news is the makers of the drug will clearly go above and beyond to get it where it's needed. I've never heard of an exec jumping in his car in pjs to get a drug where it needs to go. That's a company worth investing in!

Available at every hospital: not reasonable given how almost every hospital that exists will get built, grow, deteriorate, and be demolished without ever once seeing a case of this come through the doors. Better would be for the company that makes it to have a very fast jet, and to be met by a medivac helicopter once they land at the airport near the local hospital.

      Laura Berman g, is that really your argument? you must prove something is real before you can disprove it. you can't have evidence to suggest/prove that something isn't real before it's even been proven.
      if the only reason you believe in "god" is that there's no evidence that there isn't one, you're pretty sad and gullible.
      plus, there are theories (backed by physical evidence) about the origin of life and the universe that directly interfere with religion's bullshit stories.
      and before you say they're "just" theories and it is a belief. no, it's not just a theory. it's an idea that backed up with a lot of evidence and has no evidence disproving it, they just aren't facts because you can't prove a theory as we can't observe it in person. for example: the big bang theory and evolution, they have a lot of evidence to back up the theories and nothing to disprove them, but becuase we can't witness and observe them first person, they are theories.
