Life in Miami. You learn the meaning of the most common words and how they are used through exposure and you just learn how to piece it together without knowing any spanish.

Can we appreciate that this man is so fluent in Spanish and this woman is fluent in English that they are able to speak their own language and completely understand each other? Rarely is the language barrier completely nonexistent in a situation where someone is only able to speak in their native language.

I have seen this happening in real life, a couple consistent of english speaking boyfriend / german speaking gilffriend. to listen and understand a foreign language is far easier than to speak it
